PC died. Trying the legal options.

And fuck. I really miss plex. I’ve had Netflix and Hulu forever as family won’t let me cancel. Decided to sign up to Paramount + for some Trek. Twice in lower decks it didn’t save my watched episodes. Doesn’t mark episode as watched if you exit during the credits. And multiple playback issues....

wccrawford,

I think the newer ones have a single SATA. I’d probably go the NAS route even if it had 3 connectors, though. There’s something about having my data storage separate from my computing that I like. I’ve been trying to figure out exactly what since I’ve been typing this, and I’ve failed, though. :D

wccrawford,

I don’t see Watchtower in there anywhere. Even just used as a simple on-demand updater, it’s worth the time to set it up. (Which is pretty minimal anyhow.) But it can also just run automatically and keep things up to date all the time.

wccrawford,

Most good clients should start seeding from an existing file if you find the original torrent on the web somewhere. Or even one that just has that same file in it.

wccrawford,

I bought one recently for 4k BRs. It’s awful, even though I bought one of the highest-recommended ones. They’re still slow, lose your place, and generally suck. And if there’s any dirt on the disc, you’ve got a major problem, no matter how small the smudge.

And that isn’t even counting the problems with the format, such as unskippable intros and copyright notices.

Ripped media is so, so superior that it’s absolutely ridiculous.

I'm currently downloading a show that is on a service to which I subscribe

I have a Galaxy Tab S7 and for a trip to Spain I downloaded some stuff to watch on the flight. When I got on the plane none of the stuff downloaded on Disney+ would play. Maybe an issue with downloading to the SD card? I don’t know, but regardless Disney offers SD card as a download destination so they should make sure it is...

wccrawford,

I’ve noticed this, too, with both video and audio. It’s ridiculous.

Ways to pirate music as convenient as Spotify?

The reason I gave up on MP3’s and subscribed to Spotify was because Spotify was easy. I’ve been listening “Iron Maiden - Empire of the Clouds” song every day and like a week ago, its removed. This was the last straw for me. Right now I’m trying to find “Stremio” of the music world. Can someone assist?...

wccrawford,

Unfortunately, I think “local” is the best word usually, just not when also talking about computers. I’ve tried to think of an alternative and haven’t come up with one. I think you need a phrase like “music from local artists” or something.

wccrawford,

I don’t usually torrent, but I just looked at recent eps from Usenet and it looks like the majority is 1080p max. 4k exist, but tend to be from streaming services like Netflix, Hulu, HBO, or AppleTV it seems.

I find NZBFinder to be a decent usenet indexer for free, so maybe take a look on there for the shows you’re wanting and see if they’re even out there. It could be they just aren’t available at all.

wccrawford,

It sounds interesting, but… Android only? I don’t actually watch much video on my phone. It’s mostly on my desktop browser.

wccrawford,

I’m thinking that either the OP doesn’t want to directly admit to it, or they pirate so much music that they don’t remember where it came from. ;)
