Current and Former (Fast) Food Service Workers - How do you handle requests like “All the fries you can give me”?

Just curious as I’ve never been on the other side of the counter, how does this sort of thing tend to work at restaurants? Fast food and fast-casual places are where I’ve heard customers say things “pile as much lettuce on there as you’re allowed to” - is there ever a limit your supervisor instructed you for things...

Looks up social control theory. It basically argues that we all are well behaved because we worry about the social consequences of our bad actions. You remove social control. The moral behaviours goes out the window. It’s pretty well supported framework for understanding human behaviour.

It’s a complicated deal, since Open AIs corporate structure, but they are one of the bigger supporters and get a lot of their profits.

exactly - the port law enters into effect next fall for all new models introduced after. Apple has iPhone 15 and 16 to comply. EU likes for their big industry actions to come on reaaaaaly slow … partly as a defense against the industry arguing they did not have time to prepare

Knob is mainly just aggregating Lemmy and Mastodon. So it does not need so many servers. Lemmy has surpassed 1000 servers a few days ago.

I have been on Lemmy for about 3 weeks. It also got me to return to Mastodon. And both the sites are “fast” enough with new content so that I go to Reddit less and less. It’s enough.

We do need to keep growing. We need to engage new users so they come and stay. But that is a struggle all scaleups know.
