Does anyone have any advice on whether to use #threads or #microblogs when you're looking to say, start a discussion about a topic on #kbin? Is there an etiquette for what option is best? Or do people just pick depending on their mood (having a Twitter vs a Reddit sort of a day)?
My city redesign our downtown roads to have a whole bunch of horrible one ways in the 50s, and we are FINALLY changing back to how it was while making improvements like bike lanes. The first attempt at bike lanes with the current layout was horrible, basically death traps everywhere... Hoping for something better this time, lol....
Would sound stupid as I don't indepth of PeerTube yet but I have heard that PeerTube is federated video sharing platform. I also heard it can't hold much a load which makes sense as HD videos takes lots of load. That begs me the question why don't we use it for small/short videos(not those vertical videos) to build communities...
It's been great 4 days here on fediverse for me. But I started to notice that there is barely any content in form of videos or gifs. Every content is just static in form is images or text. This is what I am really missing here compared to reddit. Is there any particular reason behind it?
It's true that reddit has got tiktokified but what I want is not that tiktok content. I just want multimedia here on lemmy via any form. Be it from any other instance or embedding media sharing platforms.
Not having videos on fediverse is just plain boring. I always don't want to interact or read text based content all the time. Sometimes I want to scroll and chill on the videos/gifs which can be informative, funny and so on.

Why don't we use PeerTube to host the videos for Lemmy/kbin?
