I’m a lot more concerned about this whole thing being poisoned by wealthy oil barons with no regard for anything but profit, but what do I know?

He literally owns a platform.

bermuda,

Okay so stop giving him more

Nacktmull, to news in Elon Musk says Ireland's Leo Varadkar 'hates Irish people'

Please post less about him, or at best ignore him. The constant Musk spam is really getting annoying.

otter,

Yep this post is getting a downvote

He wants this message out there, why help

governorkeagan, to news in Dozens arrested in Dublin as far-right mob runs riot over immigration

It was frightening to watch that happen live. So many people were unable to get home after work because of the rioting. There were claims that they did it for the woman and children, but I fail to see how they helped anyone but themselves.

SpiderShoeCult,

especially the looting, that was done for the woman and the children. I bet they’ll donate looted items to some charity /s

Hirom, (edited ) to news in Elon Musk says Ireland's Leo Varadkar 'hates Irish people'

This isn’t what I would call news. The article provide no new substantive information, and it’s not significant enough to be world news.

It’s not even punditry. IMHO this fits in the “old man yell at clouds” category.

0xtero, to news in Elon Musk says Ireland's Leo Varadkar 'hates Irish people'

Mastodon has user defined word filters, you can completely mute this crap (of course people love misspelling his name).
I wish lemmy/kbin would get something similar it's really annoying to have this fucker in my feed daily.

floofloof, to news in Elon Musk says Ireland's Leo Varadkar 'hates Irish people'

On Thursday afternoon a stabbing incident in Dublin saw three children and an adult injured near a school, which some people blamed on the government’s immigration policy.

Police say right-wing agitators were behind violent protests which followed the stabbing, bringing angry mobs onto the streets of the city centre, burning vehicles and smashing windows amid a wave of anti-immigrant sentiment.

I have my suspicions about where Musk’s sympathies lie.

Yes but what did Tucker Carlson, Alex Jones, and Ben Shapiro have to say about it? What about David Duke? Was he unavailable for comment? You can't just go to Elon all the time, let's get some diversity of opinion in there.

Looks like a typical BLM peaceful protest to me

What’s so annoying about this is that it’s so opportunistic and it’s a template we see the far right using in a lot of other places too. None of these people rioting care about the victims, they just want to create a bunch of xenophobic violence and fear.
