Did you know there is a Japanese manga about a sexorcist sending ghosts to heaven? I don’t remember its name, but this post made me remember its existence.
This is very cool, the joke is kind of a story, because it makes you think about a background to it everybody can identify. The style is very original and catchy too.
Maybe it’s because I have an insanely high IQ? IDK but I’m pretty sure it’s above 100. 😜
Nah I actually measured it pretty high in 2 tests, but IMO that just shows IQ tests are systemically flawed. I know stuff and can do some abstract thinking, but in other ways I’m not very sharp.
Well I guess I only just confirmed your suspicion? If in doubt, feel free to browse my history.
I am not familiar with a 10 scale for IQ? But I know that 100 is below average today, although by definition 100 should be average, the IQ tests have for some reason not been updated to account for a slightly higher average IQ today.
Although sometimes used, normalcy is less common than normality in American English. It is very rarely used in the UK, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. It is frequent in India and Zimbabwe however.
So it’s a regional thing.
Although the claim that in US English the “normality” form is more common does not match my experience as a speaker of US English.
I believe Normalcy was pioneered as a word in a presidential speech by Warren Harding in 1920. The titular "Return to Normalcy". Before that, it was only normality. Since then normalcy has overtaken normality to become the more common word to use.
“There are ingrown toenails… and there are folks who make (insert ridiculous stuff here) look like a ingrown toenail.” And of course, the latter is not a wise thing to do.
