Also a special thanks to Google which with its lack of guides for its libraries makes development a real thrill!

Ghostalmedia, to asklemmy in Nerds, I need ideas for my college project that should resemble the below GitHub project - Event Planner.

Experience designer here. Flip your question around. Ask people about what they hate about event planning, RSVPing, meetups, etc. Then fix one of those things.

Find a user need, the build something to address that need.

Sounds great but needs more contributors to gain trust so that it can be used in production.

SBS1313, (edited ) to piracy in Tachiyomi replacement is out

The extensions seem still untrusted even after reinstalling. Does it need third party extensions??

Edit: will extensions be updated??

jjagaimo,

worked for me

SBS1313,

I did that but what i meant is that when will it stop or when will it restore back to not sending errors anymore…

bin/composer.phar install --no-dev

composer isn’t how you deploy software; it’s just how you download the dependency shitsmear for proper packaging and deployment as a verifiably consistent artifact. Enough of the hokey shit, please.

IrritableOcelot, to linux in what's your opinion on typst?

I want to use it, but if I’m going to commit to learning a new system for my work, I need to know that 1) it will remain open source (like LaTeX), 2) its going to remain maintained, 3) it has a robust package library, 4) it has to understand bibtex. I dont think typst has committed to the first, its not mature enough for 2 or 3, and I cannot for the life of me figure out how to automate translation between bibtex and their funky format.

juli,

Wow, your considerations are invaluable for my next steps in this topic, thank you very much

eager_eagle, to linux in what's your opinion on typst?
@eager_eagle@lemmy.world avatar

I’ve used it for a few documents and loved it. There’s a learning curve, but I’m glad they’re not carrying the technical debt latex has, so it’s definitely worth the effort IMO.

juli,

Sounds good, thx.

smeg, to privacyguides in OmitMe - Your Privacy-Centric, Easily Extendable Data Deletion Solution

So how does it work?

Ward,
@Ward@lemmy.nz avatar

Basically think of it as a SDK for defining data deletion on a platform. Omitme handles all the annoying stuff like account storage, building a CLI/GUI & sessions.

The core of Omitme is Seleniumwire used to grab login session tokens for platforms & HTTPX for making requests with those session tokens. Then you simply define you data deletion “targets” and the API calls to delete such data.

genie, to opensource in A fork of NewPipe that implements SponsorBlock and ReturnYouTubeDislike

As an avid NewPipe user I like that it’s an approximately identical tool with more functionality!

It seems like a fork where (I wish) a plugin could (ideally) be in NewPipe. It may also be a nice nod to the original devs to change the default color scheme of the fork so nobody gets confused as to who forked from who.

Overall very cool work! I hope they continue to have success and make progress.

projectmoon,

The fork was originally created because upstream NewPipe elected not to include sponsor block functionality.

Carol, (edited ) to privacy in Nitter is shutting down

The squawker seems interesting to me. Unfortunately it’s only available on android and there are some issues probably out of their reach. But since I use it for something basic (literally seeing images of some profiles I follow), it serves me well

const_void,

Squawker doesn’t work any longer either

Carol,

It had this problem, but it started working again after the last update
