Is there not issues with filling up the NVRAM with efi entries, even if you’re deleting old ones? I’ve bricked a computer by distrohopping so many times it couldn’t write new entries.

SteveTech,

I’m probably wrong, but NVRAM suggests that there should be some way to clear it. (Clearing the CMOS might if you can’t do it in software)

as_is_tradition,

I’ve cleared entries before with efibootmgr.

when will I actually be able to use a native wayland version of wine?

Spore,

I believe that I’m already using it on NixOS. Working without visible problems since half a year ago.

I really want to use wayland - and even though maybe I shouldn’t I still do on my laptop - but man… on Plasma 5 that thing is borked. And I’m not even running on NVIDIA.

Whenever the system wakes up from sleep or an external display reconnects all open windows are gone and the system enters a weird state which forces me to reboot. How was “all windows are lost when the compositor crashes” not something fixed in the early days, is beyond me. That must make even developing for Wayland unnecessarily difficult/annoying.

Kent just made a reply on this.

TL;DR: Fast on his machine. The reason of the difference is unclear though.

wiki_me,

Would help if they have a repo with a test suite anyone can run, like in science making it easy to reproduce results.

kinda wish they would put nightly on fdroid too instead of just google play or through the website

I’m a happy btrfs user, but it’s most definitely a great thing to see what seems like a really clean implementation like this that is able to learn from the many years of collective experience with ZFS and btrfs.

Good. For one thing, we can move on to drama about something else. But, also, I’d like to play with it without having to build a kernel.

Do you mean products like their VPN? They really need the revenue to try and become more independent from Google. Right now something like 90% of their income comes from a deal with Google to make Google the default search engine.

Count me as one of those new Linux users. I’ve been trying to switch since the 90’s and Linux gaming is finally viable. I know this is in large part thanks to Valve, so thanks, Valve!

If the games you are playing don’t run on linux than you are mostly playing crap designed by people who’s main goal is to empty your pockets and who think that you are stupid
