Is it possible to follow Mastodon accounts from Lemmy?
I can see that I can follow Lemmy communities from Mastodon (just tried it out with a handful of communities), but I don’t see a way to have it work the other way....

I’ve seen the post saying that the lead developer is stepping down, I’ve seen his accusations of abuse. I’ve seen enormous write-ups which make questionable claims about how he’s the devil himself. I’ve seen a lot of rumour and hearsay, and now I’ve got no idea what to think....
For a while now I’ve been quite happy running LibreWolf, with Bitwarden and some other privacy extensions. I’ve also switched over from Google to Kagi as a search engine; doesn’t keep me anonymous, but I do love not being the product for once.
Hello Every time I hit an interesting post, it opens whatever web page in the same tab lemmy was opened, and thus I loose lemmy....
I had a look through the documentation but couldn’t find anything in this. Are there any moderation powers held by community owners? How extensive are they if they exist?
While using the webview, I just navigate to a post then hit back to go to the timeline. On going back, however, the timeline reloads again and involves a somewhat annoying delay and re-rendering of the timeline page....
I've been seeing so much hype around Covid-19 lately, and I just have to say, it's really not as big a deal as people are making it out to be. I mean, come on, it's just a bad flu at worst! I'm tired of all the fear-mongering and exaggerated headlines in the media....
How would you write magicians? Would you describe their tricks? Would you reveal the tricks? Please do link any literature with magicians as characters....
Hi. As I am new on Lemmy I wonder, how I can block communities where I am not are interested in. At the moment, I switch to my user menue, switch to Preferences and to Blockings. There I enter the name of the respective community. But I assume there could be a shorter way for blocking a community directly from my timeline, if I...

I am looking for a fediverse solution for a blog and I tried it with writefreely, but it has some disadvantages I can’t live with....

Hey all, I think it’s unfair for me to be the only moderator (plus the admins!)....
What are Lemmy’s feelings about the best cloud storage options these days, if you really want to break into the 1-2TB range? I’m not there yet, probably not even halfway there, but I like the peace of mind of potentially having the space if I need it. And I think subscribing to something in the Netflix price range is maybe...
This is a philosophical question, which means there is no right or wrong answer in a traditional term, but keep trolling to yourself. If you have no own opinion or respect before such question, please do not answer, thanks. I am not looking for low-quality answers such as … no … yes …...
Some people might find the answer to be obvious (yes) but I’ve rarely found it so. In fact, this is a question I often find in the linux community (regarding linux going mainstream, not lemmy) and people are pretty split upon it....
Wikipedia for reference:...
I am looking for sublemmies I could follow that have no other target than entertainment, like eyebleach, PIC, hummm, dank memes, advice animals, battle station, amateurroomporn, natureismetal, pics of unusual birds, etc. Just nice, interesting and funny thinks to look at or read....
I tend to like the volunteer-read audiobooks on librivox and recently was curious about their Sherlock Holmes books (never read or listened to before), but I’m wondering what else is out there and popular in the community.
I’ll start:...

Do you use it? Do you like it? Dislike it? How do you think it compares to the native package manager, or other cross-distro package managers like Snap or Flatpak?
