SecretPancake, in What password manager do you recommend?

Been using 1Password since 2010. I tried Bitwarden a few years ago just because of the price. In theory it ticks all boxes but it was a pain to use. I does not flow like 1P, some things did not work the way I expected and it looks like shit. Don’t ask for details because I forgot. So I switched back. The new design of 1Password made it a little worse but it’s still great and the integration into iOS and macOS is amazing.

1Password has some nice features (like it reads QR codes off the page and automatically handles 2FA for you, which is clever, but not necessarily the "2" in "2FA" you were hoping for) but it also has a lot of weird UI decisions that make it confusing to use, especially in a shared company environment.

It is a lot better than it was before though, now it's cross-platform (it used to be exclusively AppleSuperiorityComplexWare), but it's still not open source.

Ghostc1212, in Does anyone actually enjoy working out?

When you pump large amounts of iron in rapid succession at the gym, it makes you feel unstoppable, like you could take on the world. It’s an absolutely wonderful feeling to have, and I think it can be chalked up to the testosterone boost. The way to cultivate this mindset is

  1. Simply work out. The body releases the “unstoppable” chemical when you do Chad shit.
  2. Have more faith in your own capabilities. This will naturally happen if you surround yourself with positive reinforcement and if you do step 1.
flashgnash,

Hell yes we love the unstoppable chemical.

Try out the songs Rum and Bass and the ultimate Dirk theme from pesterquest next time you’ve got it, matches the vibe perfectly

Currently using bitwarden. Moved over from LastPass. Free and works on browser plus mobile. Like it so far.

RickyRigatoni, in what was your first video game/system you played or remember playing?

Locuralacura, in what was your first video game/system you played or remember playing?

I remember intellivision. I played pit fall. God damn that makes me feel old

6368_39162,

Intellivision here too. Never did get through a full 50 rounds of Tank Battle

crossfadedragon,

remember sears arcade systems? i think that was their knock off of intellivision. white/cream color, and i think its controllers could actually be unplugged.

livedeified, in what was your first video game/system you played or remember playing?
@livedeified@lemmy.world avatar

I remember playing Joust on the Atari 2600. We had a little black and white TV to play it on.

FreddyNO, in Liftoff. Lemmy app. Do you like the way it works now?
@FreddyNO@lemmy.world avatar

I prefer connect. It has a cleaner ui with less clutter imo

Lanfordr,

Same. Connect is much cleaner in my opinion. Still has some clunkiness and I don’t like that touching the screen on images closes the image, but overall it’s a great start.

FarLine99,

Connect is good too.

FredOnline, in What's the point of buying new phones every years?
@FredOnline@kbin.social avatar

As mentioned by others, security updates and the camera. If the right 'phone comes along at the right price, then is when I'll consider doing the upgrade. Upgrading when the latest greatest 'phone is released is something I would never consider.

Laticauda, in What's the hottest and coldest temperature you've ever been in?

Coldest was about -45°C, hottest was about +45°C. We’ve got quite the range where I live, though usually it’s closer to -30 and +30, those were just extreme cases lol.

usualsuspect191,

A year or two ago we went from -42°C to +42°C in about 3 months (end of Feb to early June). The temperature swings in parts of Canada are wild

dystop,

Coldest was about -45°C

jesus where was this, the arctic?

Laticauda,

Canada

wtvr, in Does anyone actually enjoy working out?

I used to. Lifting weights helped me in many aspects of my life. Particularly in regards to making goals and seeing them through. It was difficult to get into but once I started seeing results (pretty quickly) the gym became my second home for years. And then my daughter got sick and I got depressed and now it’s been 5 years and god I miss it but just haven’t been able to get back

mvirts,

You can do it!

mrcranky, in What's the hottest and coldest temperature you've ever been in?

-45°C in central Alberta in the 90’s, +45° C in California in the 80’s.

SilentStorms,
@SilentStorms@lemmy.fmhy.ml avatar

Mine’s about the same range, but both in Alberta

yads,

I don’t think there’s anywhere in Alberta that gets above 40

SilentStorms,
@SilentStorms@lemmy.fmhy.ml avatar

Not regularly, but if I remember correctly it was a record-breaking 43 about 10 or so years ago

Laticauda,

I’ve seen Alberta get above 40C in rare cases.

Geostorm, in Where do you go on Lemmy for reliable news and politics?
TrendigOsthyvel, in e-reader or tablet for reading academic paper
