I have even noticed that google (my search engine of choice) has been showing reddit links further down the page; they used to be at the top for most of my searches (linux, gaming, coding type stuff). Which is appropriate, because just the other day I found a reddit post via google that had my exact issue and clicking though to it, the person who answered the question (and got a "thanks that did it" from the OP) had deleted their comments.
You could go to sauna to get used to the heat, and cool yourself off in the cold bath. Sauna is generally awesome, and in Korea there are public saunas everywhere.
Me personally no, I quit on June 11th and I haven’t looked back. My husband on the other hand looks at it periodically. He showed my something from r/PartyParrot yesterday thinking it was cool and I had to tell him it was a popular repost. Pretty much cemented the fact that I’m not missing anything.
There’s not really a problem with meat either. You don’t have to eat it and if you do, you don’t have to feel bad about eating animals.
That said, there is kind of a problem with insulin manufacturing in that it’s kind of centralized and distribution can be difficult, especially in remote areas with unreliable electricity. If insulin manufacturing could be done at the garage or shipping container scale in the places where it’s needed, it would help a lot of people.
Recently lemmy.world and other big lemmy instances were compromised - attackers used an exploit to steal admin JWTs (json web tokens), and started changing settings and posting as admins. JWT is created when you log in, and is passed during all interactions to prove who you are.
To recover from the compromise, lemmy.world invalidated all the existing tokens and forced everyone to log in again. Unfortunately lemmy.world stopped trusting valid JWTs too, and apps all had some crazy behavior.
This was resolved as of Wednesday some time, I think.
My advice is to make sure your apps are all updated, and log out / back in to each of them. If it’s not resolved for you, try deleting and reinstalling the apps. If it’s still not resolved, search for a lemmy support community as another poster suggested.
I’m not sure if it’s the same thing, but there seems to be some login problems with Lemmy.world (I’ve been experiencing those for the last 2-3 days when trying to log in from a browser).
Some German speaking instances heavily swing towards Last Generation/Just Stop Oil/Extinction Rebellion/etc. to the point that you observe heavy downvotes and brigading/mob behavior on any comment that shows the slightest opposition towards them. To be clear: it’s not a left right thing. They call anyone not on board with glueing themselves to things in protest “right”. Not the nicest climate for civil discussion over there (pun!! badumts!). And it reminds me of why I left the German speaking internet over a decade ago in an extreme form. But I also feel like it’s important to have just a little bit of sound insulation in that echo chamber and see some differing opinions, even though I suspect many middle-of-the-bell-curve lurkers might feel like not staying around too long.
Tl;Dr: political topics are indeed as enflamed as ever. More so in the subs I’ve spent time in.
