I say that a lot. Usually when I’m alone and frustrated, tired, in physical or emotional pain…
I don’t want to die. What I’m saying is “make whatever is causing the current situation to suck to stop”. It tends to be cathartic, and occasionally leads me to thinking about how to fix the situation myself.
What if we killed you and then saved the few cells that survived longest and cloned you from them and kept doing that until you had skin tougher than diamonds and super strength and an unquenchable thirst for blood?
PC for most games, but I also use it for most things in general
Steamdeck for any mid-tier games that can run on it well, or games that i'll be playing while also doing other things. Also for portability
Switch for better portability if the quality will be more or less the same, since it's lighter, smaller, and doesn't heat up much/at all. But also pretty much strictly for portability. If I plan to use it on a screen i'll use steamdeck.
Definitely this - they’re some of the best military science-fiction and, along with The Clone Wars series, give Order 66 a lot of added weight.
I feel like it will be bad because authors won’t have freedom to make things their way.
The series both disproves and proves this statement - Karen Traviss definitely had the freedom to make things her own way until she didn’t. She stopped writing because she didn’t feel she could make it work with the new status quo (although I think if you squint a bit and lean into the “legends” idea, that these are legends which may have happened from a certain point of view even if all the details may not be correct, it can still work, at least for me).
They are reprinting them at the moment so don’t rule it out but it’s a relatively expensive undertaking and so it’s unlikely that they’d splash out on Legends material unless they sell well. Eventually AI will bang these out I suppose.
I just play the games that interest me, doesn’t matter the platform. Right now I don’t have a series S/X console because none of the current gen Xbox exclusives interest me. I play cloud, Nintendo, PlayStation, Xbox, and sega
I'm offline half the time on Steam Deck. It has issues with reconnecting with my router after resuming and I just ignore it. If I manually connect when it doesn't auto connect, it complains about password error, but I just keep spamming ok and it connects. I wish I knew how to fix it.
Have you tried turning off Wi-Fi power management on the Deck? The Deck’s Wi-Fi is normally pretty good, but the Wi-Fi power management occasionally has issues with some combinations of router chipset and router settings, which can cause symptoms like what you’re experiencing.
Different lemmy and kbin instances have various arts & culture communities (some are reasonably active, some aren't). You can use community/magazine search tools to find ones to your liking.
Eg to search for theatre related communities you could use:
Note that due to the way the fediverse works, these search aggregators aren't necessarily comprehensive. So it's worth spreading your search over several tools.
how I sign up to mastodon instances and whatnot with kbin
As I understand it, you don't sign up to a mastodon instance with kbin. Rather, kbin has the ability to act as a way of following fediverse users and hashtags in the same way as mastodon does.
In other words, if mastodon is the fediverse's version of twitter, and lemmy is the fediverse's version of reddit, then kbin is a combination of the two.
However, while kbin's lemmy/reddit features are maturing nicely, the mastodon/twitter functions are still pretty embryonic. (Bear in mind that kbin is a young project that for most of its life had only a single developer.)
For example:
On kbin you can follow fediverse users by clicking on the "Follow" button in their profile (similar to the way you can follow users on mastodon), but I don't think there's a way of having their posts appear on a timeline yet.
Similarly, while you can create a magazine that follows certain hashtags in the "microblog" section of a magazine, you can't currently do that as part of your kbin personal profile in the way you can choose to follow hashtags on mastodon and have them appear in your feed. (And the propagation of hashtags between kbin and the wider fediverse seems to be haphazard at the moment in any case.)
What I would recommend for now is to create a mastodon account on a mastodon instance of your choice, and treat the two ecoystems as largely independent, until kbin's feature set matures.
Being a star wars fan and avid reader I felt like I should give them a try, did some research and the consensus seemed to be that the thawn trilogy was the best, read book one and hated it for how one-dimensional the characters were, nothing at all noteworthy from a literary perspective
Sometimes I do positive self talk, but will not work without some basic attitude. And that is the selfishness, brutal and cruel. So during hardest and darkest time the positivy have actually a scary light and I hope to never be tested by someone in the future.
I went from several hours a day to zero after the blackout, morally I just don’t want to support them anymore. I still add ‘reddit’ to google searches sometimes and look at those, but no more mindless scrolling of the front page.
