I love wasting spending lots of time on the computer.
I’m friends with Beeminder.
I started at one minute less per day. At the moment I get one day in the countdown when I’m off the machine for 165 minutes. I raise the value when I feel it - slowly and steadily.
Hmm, well if you have friendly forms of them I suppose you’d also have the odd pests and hostile forms, so that’s not a bad response. Speaking of, if you had lamp mimics you’d have a hell of frustrating time keeping your place lit.
Although I was thinking more in terms of domesticated, benign forms of living buildings/structures.
I’m a little late to the party here, but I don’t see it mentioned already so I have to recommend “372 Pages We’ll Never Get Back”. Mike Nelson (MST3K, Rifftrax) and Conor Lastoka (Rifftrax) give really detailed reviews of “books they expect not to like”, aka badly-written books. Think Mystery Science Theater 3000, but with books. They’re on episode 152 and the episodes run ~2 hours. Great for long car rides.
Vinegar is a pretty good all purpose cleaner but I’d also flag that it’s a pretty strong acid, which over time can cause issues for most natural surfaces (wood, stone, etc.).
It’ll take time to notice but you’ll wind up having to put in extra work to maintain good surface finishes.
I currently use a ZTE Blade V Smart/ZTE 2050, which cost me 150€, pretty cheap, but still very usable (bought it a few years ago so that exact model isn’t worth it anymore, I had generally not absolutely terrible experience with ZTE phones before, tho). I also have a newer phone that I don’t use for no reason, a Xiaomi Redmi Note 11, which cost me 200€.
Just native Chromium, or if you don’t want any Google stuff, Ungoogled Chromium. They both use the same UI as Google Chrome. I recommend these because they have no such bloat, and if you want a chromium-based browser for rare usage, it does it’s thing.
On an unrelated note, I use GNOME Web on Linux and Safari on macOS (they are both based on WebKit). GNOME Web has some problems, but I can’t give up the animation of two finger scrolling between pages and smooth scrolling on touchpad. I use Firefox as a fallback browser on Linux, because I have never really needed something that is specifically Chromium.
Sorry, it’s from a sitcom (Superstore). It’s funny because after the main character yells that at a customer, she is shown mopping the floor in the next scene.
It’s my feel good show of the moment, sorry I used to give you a bad feel.
Real answer though, I asked the cleaning lady at my work if I could provide an unscented product for her to use on the floors because the Pine Sol gives me a headache. She said her favorite product for floors is Amway All Purpose Cleaner, she just uses the Pine Sol because clients like to “smell the clean.” You don’t have to join the pyramid selling scheme to get it anymore: www.amazon.com/…/B09BTPZGZN/
I use vinegar at home, but I just have shitty linoleum.
Yay internet, where every single person thinks they’re funny, huh? These guys, the emacs guys above, sometimes I wish people would act online as they do irl
