I know this is a joke but if I found my match but they had a minor flaw I would probably try real hard to make it work and maybe even explain to them that their bad habit annoys me slightly. Nobody is perfect and theres always room to improve for those willing to try

You don’t have to put your face… You could put a giant butthole as your profile pic if that’s what you want.

Just trying to be helpful. They could use roosters head as their profile, there’s plenty of things.

Klear,

I don’t want your face either.

Kusimulkku,

But why

Octopus1348,

Butt why?

xeekei, in Aaaaaand it's over

I have to do this when my grandma calls. Not because I have loudspeaker mode on, but because SHE has, but still talks with it against her face so she comes out extremely loudly on my end.

Rinox,

You know you can lower the volume right?

xeekei,

Yep.

ElBarto,
@ElBarto@sh.itjust.works avatar

That’s how loud their grandma is , they had it on silent.

RQG, (edited )
@RQG@lemmy.world avatar

Grandma yells loud enough, you can hear her without the phone. The call is just so she can hear you back. But barely so you also have to yell.

Kiosade, in Shut. The fuck. Up.

  • intensely_human,

    Yes I know I’m saying polite words in an extremely unpleasant tone. No, I can’t control it right now, or rather I’m controlling it as much as I can. Yes, I know you don’t believe me because it’s not that way for you. Yes this sucks.

    Droechai,

    This is one of my greatest struggles with my ASD.

    intensely_human,

    People straight up don’t believe that tone can be anything but a deliberate decision, so they interpret any unpleasant tone as an insult. It sucks so much.

    Cornucopia in the fruit of the loom logo

    TheAlbatross,

    Is the effected part that the logo used to lack the cornucopia?

    bishoponarope,

    It lacks the cornucopia now, and from what I’ve gathered it is allegedly due to a sale and rebrand to distance the company from an ecological disaster.

    TheAlbatross,

    I had some fruit of the loom underwear growing up, and while I can’t remember if the logo had a cornucopia or not, I do remember the material sucked

    Jackthelad,

    Shit pants, essentially.

    Ranvier,

    It’s never had the cornucopia in the logo.

    www.snopes.com/…/fruit-of-the-loom-cornucopia/

    It’s pretty common for people’s brains to want one to be there for some reason though. My guess is because we’ve seen so many similar pictures of fruit or vegetables spilling out of a cornucopia that we misremember and merge similar pictures.

    henfredemars, in Ignorance is bliss

    JigglySackles,

    Now BC7 because i’m playing with graphics programming. Usually… png i guess because it’s simple.

    psvrh,
    @psvrh@lemmy.ca avatar

    Encapsulated Postscript, because I like my images Turing-complete.

    renzev,

    Do you write postscript by hand? I once got the change to take a postscript programming class, but sadly I didn’t (I wish I did tho). How does it compare with SVG? I know SVG has a lot of limitations (for example, you can’t change the color of a shape filled with a pattern), so I guess eps’ turing completeness lets you overcome things like that, since you can just program in whatever functionality you need?

    aeharding,
    @aeharding@lemmy.world avatar

    JXL. Better compression in my testing and better quality. Also very flexible format with JPEG compatibility

    TxzK,

    WebP cause small size, can be transparent, can be animated, can use either loseless and lossy compression. Also it pisses of many people which is funny to me.

    renzev,

    The pissing people off part is why I post all my memes in webp haha

    TxzK,

    Extremely based

    pineapplelover,

    Png because it’s lossless and pretty universal. Svg is pretty cool because it’s vectorized but it’s also a pain to make good svg.

    aeronmelon,

    Still waiting for animated PNG. It would make it the perfect universal compressed image format.

    pineapplelover,

    I didn’t even know that was a think. That would be hella cool.

    mlg,
    @mlg@lemmy.world avatar

    Animated PNG actually does exist but it has poor support coverage.

    I remember using it to make whatsapp animated stickers

    lud, (edited )

    All major browsers (98% of all users) have supported APNG since at least 2020

    Firefox: 2008.
    Safari: 2014.
    Chrome: 2017.
    Edge: 2020.

    caniuse.com/apng

    I believe the photo app in Win 10 (and maybe 11) still doesn’t support it but that shouldn’t hinder web devs.

    I agreed to it because there’s no real competition for content, so they own the market by default. If you don’t hit “I agree” to every last stipulation, data provision, and term you dont have access to the the largest library of information, shitposting, and weaponised opinions since dawn of radio or television.

    I don’t agree with it. So adblock stays.

    That could be a good experience for the baby.

    I wonder if there is some research showing the effects on exposing babies to visual art.

    JoMiran, (edited )
    @JoMiran@lemmy.ml avatar

    I don’t know about visual art but there is about music. Exposing a baby to complex music (many notes), like classical and jazz can help develop perfect pitch. The brain learns musical notes like it learns language.

    xX_fnord_Xx,

    Babies take to art at an impressive rate, you just have to really grind their face into it.

    The crying stops once they understand the art.

    moon,

    Idk, clearly the baby thinks it’s a mediocre piece of art😐

    EndHD,

    maybe, but i feel like while it may correlate, it’s not the cause. the cause is more likely that if a parent cares enough to show their child art, they’re probably more nurturing and prioritize academia more than parents who raise an iPad kid

    Gormadt,
    @Gormadt@lemmy.blahaj.zone avatar

    Yeah this would be one that’s really hard to separate causation from correlation that’s for sure

    Cliff,

    But it’s safe to say: Every single person who confuses correlation and causation ends up dying.

    Lemmygizer,

    Depends on the art. High contrast imagery is generally considered developmentally important.

    yamanii,
    @yamanii@lemmy.world avatar

    Maybe because the yeti tumblers tiktoks don’t go viral and reach outside their bubble.

    RememberTheApollo_, (edited )

    worthy of ridicule

    Because limited edition cups of the brand I used to buy at the Flying J truck stop for $12.99 now costs $150, and the resale value is $200. People are buying a half dozen or more to go with whatever they’re wearing. They’re Stanley mugs for heaven’s sake.

    It’s absolutely stupid, and Yeti was just overpriced trendy stuff, not the equivalent of a Beanie Baby fad as a fashion accessory.

    Can’t wait until these fools are stuck with piles of worthless mugs they wasted money on. You’ll find these mugs at yard sales or Goodwill in a few years. Good for Stanley makers, though. Hope they laugh all the way to the bank over this vapid trend.

    Edit: TBC I think the overpriced Yeti gear is dumb, but I never thought of it as being “gendered”. Plenty of women had Yeti gear. The levels to which this Stanley thing is being taken is ridiculous, and it seems to be predominantly a female thing as a fashion accessory. It’s not dumb because women are the ones buying it up, it’s just dumb because it’s dumb. IDC who the suckers are.

    rsuri, (edited ) in $45 for a cup?!

    I’m just amazed that anyone thinks a metal coffee tumbler is superior in any way.

    Here’s the ultimate way to drink coffee, after years of experience trying different things:

    • large double-walled borosilicate glass mug. You can find several versions of this on amazon, get one that fits your cupholder.
    • plastic lid from any other travel cup for when you need it, usually it fits pretty well

    The only downside is you will occasionally drop it and it will shatter into a million tiny pieces.

    kogasa, (edited )
    @kogasa@programming.dev avatar

    I agree for drinking at home, but for travel, get a ceramic-lined double-walled steel cup like a Fellow Carter or a Stanley Ceramivac. (I use the Carter and love it.)

    PraiseTheSoup,

    lol yeah I’m not bringing that monstrosity in my car. Stainless steel is perfectly fine.

    Anticorp,
