This makes me wonder, is there a way to make communities that are inherently immune to trolls? Lemmy is for sure an improvement from r*ddit, since if an instance’s admins become corrupt, users have the freedom to relocate to another instance. Would a social media platform with no reputation/voting system be even more resistant? On one hand, it would wipe out karma bots and account trading. But on the other hand, it would make it easier for someone to push propaganda by spamming from multiple accounts. Currently, imageboards seem to generally have less shilled content, but that may just be because imageboards tend to produce smaller and more niche communities (not to mention places like /pol, which most advertiser simply don’t want to associate with)
Wouldn’t an infinite number of anything with physical mass collapse the universe as we know it and challenge our models of physics? But yeah sign me up for the Benjamin’s.
What does “the browser client” mean? I can see the gifs of the person you are responding to both when using Brave browser to access lemmy.world, and on my phone using Voyager.
Browsing from iOS right now. I checked from lemmy.world and found that it still wasn’t visible. It’s definitely an issue with ios safari as desktop Firefox rendered it without issue.
Why are the mods allowed to comment on posts in a manner that displays that they know personal information about your daily activities and your online identity?
They didn’t do either, you’re responding to a paranoid schizophrenic. Their post and comment history are full of nonsense about being tracked, doxxed, and gangstalked.
It seems like this website is spying on me already. I’ve been getting swatted by a scorned Ex for a couple years now. Her friends create distractions and like to point fingers at Corporations and use them as shields.
