The lining of their pocket threw me off for a moment…

Like Link when he casually shoves the thing THAT IS ON FIRE they are holding into their pants.

THEY SENT A HUMAN TO A FIERY DEATH MOUNTAIN??? 😱

(That was so nerve-wrecking to watch. Somebody better built a robot to automate that, that shit is terrifying. I hope the person gets paid well.)

Is it even lava after it cools in the bucket of water? Chemically, yes (or maybe? Wouldn’t the water change it just a bit?), but definition wise does lava not imply that it is still molten?

They’re cool, but cute is a stretch for me. They’ve got sloth fingers and a butthole mouth.

Also known as space fleas (to me)

Journey to the Microcosmos on YouTube has some fantastic space fleas footage.

atempuser23, in A muddy reveal for mysterious West point time capsule from 1820s

This is an absolutely epic article from the BBC.

weeoooweeooo,

My favorite part:

“I am sure some in our audience have questions for our various experts up on stage?” Ms Voigtschild said after the mud was found. There were none.

rynzcycle,

"Uh, hi, yeah. Do you guys get paid for this?"

TubeTalkerX,

What kind of mud was it?

SpaceNoodle,

Old

Tankaus,

Fascinating.

It’s probably soil that has some symbolic meaning for the dead guy of the statue.

Tylerdurdon, in A muddy reveal for mysterious West point time capsule from 1820s

But it’s old mud. You can squish it between your fingers just like they did in 1829. Kinda reminds me of the whole Geraldo Rivera and Jimmy Hoffa’s vault it whatever it was.

Kbin_space_program,

It'll also be slightly-less-radioactive mud without the dust from nuclear weapons on it.

bradorsomething, in A muddy reveal for mysterious West point time capsule from 1820s

Those scamps at East Point have done it again.

Plibbert, in A muddy reveal for mysterious West point time capsule from 1820s
