As an ancient plasma TV owner with a Logitech Harmony remote on life support… they make external HDMI splitters with ARC now?

Huh.

dansity,

Yup its 22 bucks on aliexpress

WhatsHerBucket,
@WhatsHerBucket@lemmy.world avatar

I have the exact same setup lol

Panasonic plasma forever…

moody,

ARC Abrasives, yes.

HiddenLayer5, in Chinese people picked the first logo they found for ARC having no idea what is that
@HiddenLayer5@lemmy.ml avatar

Yes because every single person of Chinese ethnicity did this. Don’t know why you had to drag Chinese into this, just say “this company” or the name of the company or something. Does OceanGate represent every single American person too?

Rukmer,

It seems like the implication was “due to language barrier…”

dansity,

This device literally has no brand only a made in china text on the bottom.

imgonnatrythis, in Hieroglyphic Nest in the Temple of Edfu, Egypt

Cute, but isn’t bird poop errossive AF? Should probably eliminate the infestation.

RegularGoose,

Living things > inanimate objects.

We’ve destroyed their habitat, so they have to go somewhere.

Not the first time this sort of stuff has happened, nor it will be last. Many many years ago, when cheap mobile VR headsets were all the rage, some Chinese manufacturer ripped off the logo of our national rail company.

You know I think I have one of those lol

dynamojoe,

I think I just got harassed about my adblocker in Finnish.

TheDoctorDonna, in Hieroglyphic Nest in the Temple of Edfu, Egypt

Is it next to a bird? That looks like a bird.

MrsDoyle,

Unbelievably, the hieroglyph next to the bird is a bee. It’s like whoever designed it had never seen a bee, but had them described by someone who knew someone whose cousin was stung by a bee that one time.

en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bee_(hieroglyph)

squaresinger,

Maybe bees looked different, 5000 years ago on a different continent?

MrsDoyle,

Ha ha yes - bees with horns, what a thought!

squaresinger,

These could be the antenae. I mean, carving into stone doesn’t really lend itself well for high-res depictions.

TheDoctorDonna,

Ah, that makes more sense actually, that thing definitely has more than 2 legs.

foofiepie, in Hieroglyphic Nest in the Temple of Edfu, Egypt

Amun, am I going nuts or are the words moving around the slab?

Kyoyeou, in Axolotl: This Incredible Creature Can Regenerate Its Brain, Heart, And Limbs

They forgot to add that the creature is incredibly cute

adeoxymus, in Chinese people picked the first logo they found for ARC having no idea what is that

I don’t get it

Kehalo,

That looks to be a logo of an abrasives company, not something for Audio Return Channel.

5473MP4RRit,

I still don’t get it

T156,

They looked up “ARC”, and grabbed the first logo they found, not noticing that it was for a completely different company/product instead of the proper one for the HDMI feature.

5473MP4RRit,

Oooh! Fuck me. I’m an idiot. I didn’t zoom in on the image. 🤦🏻‍♂️ Thanks. Sorry.

squaresinger,

I still don’t get it

Coehl,

Got’em

Transcendant,

ARC is an audio technology. Zoom in on the ARC after 'Audio Extractor &’ text, it says Arc Abrasives, which I’d guess is a manufacturer of abrasives

adeoxymus,

Oh dang, thanks for the explanation!

themeatbridge,

Zoom in on the lower right corner of the printed graphics.

Fuck_u_spez_, in Axolotl: This Incredible Creature Can Regenerate Its Brain, Heart, And Limbs

But can you bisect one down the midline and end up with two?

OskarAxolotl,

They can only regenerate certain parts of their brain. So unfortunately, no.

SlothMama, in Axolotl: This Incredible Creature Can Regenerate Its Brain, Heart, And Limbs

It’s because they’re all juvenile though. They actually don’t produce a hormone needed for proper growth and that’s why they look the way they do. They are supposed to go through another stage of growth, and their appearance and existence is because of a genetic birth defect.

lauha,

How do they reproduce then?

clubb,
@clubb@lemmy.world avatar

Simple. They don’t have to be adults to reproduce. Wasn’t there a pregnant 2 year old girl at some point?

BennyInc,

So would it be possible to make one grow up by giving them hormones? And what would it look like?

ChihuahuaOfDoom,

They can force them to change with a shot of iodine and they apparently look like Tiger Salamanders.

gizmodo.com/scientists-show-that-peter-pan-grows-…

BennyInc,

Interesting. But whoever wrote the article should have gone for pictures 😁

Number358,

If I remember correctly then yes, you can though I don’t know how that would look like, probably like this

Yes, that’s what I was referencing. 😊

Thanks you hoopy frood.
