I’m surprised some tech company hasn’t put waterproof touchscreen devices in their employee locker room showers so that their employees can reply to email in there.
Not sure about the actor in the pic, but whoever took it would definitely be fired and put on a do not rehire list if they figured out who it was because they pretty explicitly tell you during Traditions to not ruin the “magic” for other people (and it leads to some weird language games to not break their quasi kayfabe), but I think I agree with whoever said this was not Disney, that costume looks sus.
A friend of mine had the funniest lost in transit story - they’ve got genetic joint issues among other things, and they needed a pair of crutches with forearm rests. Turns out the only manufacturer of those still left is based out of South Africa, so they contacted the company and arranged for a set to be shipped over to the US (and it was still cheaper than it would have been through insurance). They got an email from the company and it turns out the shipment to the port got hijacked. The apologetic representative from the company drove a set down to the port and my friend got their crutches a couple weeks later and a funny story out of it. And probably the other set of crutches eventually got to someone else who needed them, so win win, lol.
Oh, hey, I worked attractions and merchandise at DAK back in 2008-2014 with a few gaps in there. And same, it was nice to just chill in the parks. Did you get to do any of the cast backstage tours? I got to go on one to the Haunted Mansion, that was really cool to see.
I’m like 95% sure I’ve seen that somewhere around Orlando, and the sign looks like a Turnpike sign, but the turnpike doesn’t go to Tampa unless you go turnpike to I-4…
EDIT: there’s a less crunchy image on Reddit, apparently FDOT posted it to Twitter. That is definitely a Florida Turnpike sign (sorry for linking to Reddit)
EDIT 2: Found the original tweet via wayback machine, which was deleted by FDOT (gee, I wonder why?) and it’s somewhere in Palm Beach County (Lyons Road to the Turnpike), not Orlando.
I drank a lot of sweet tea and mountain dew in high school and occasionally coffee, then switched to energy drinks in college. Until I did the math on the energy drinks and bought a Keurig, which is convenient enough that I stopped my daily energy drink habit and saved a ton of money. Are there cheaper ways to get caffeine? Yes. Will my sleep disordered ass use any of them? No.
Other than a few people who work for Reddit, basically everyone was blindsided by Reddit doing the API thing with such short notice. There's all of like two people developing Lemmy, one also is responsible for the Jeroba app and I think the lemmy.ml instance, and thousands of people just showed up and started trying to use various instances including having so many people sign up for Lemmy.ml it had stability issues. Apparently Reddit managed to hug itself to death during the Digg Exodus, it's not a big surprise it's happening here too and I think Reddit was a bit bigger than Lemmy when shit hit the fan on the previous platforms. There's some growing pains and some problems to work though, but the big ones like the scrolling thing will likely be solved fairly quickly.
