AllonzeeLV,

It’s an order of magnitude more complex than Chess, which I am just ok at, so kudos!

Not to even mention that most social issues are exacerbated by our disgraceful economic inequity, but we’re only allowed to argue the symptoms, as our beloved society market capitalist economy is too perfect and sacred to change to Republicans and Neoliberals alike.

Abortions are often economic decisions, for example, and correctly so when you can’t afford to raise a child. If you want significantly fewer abortions, living wages, paid maternity leave, social supports etc would do that, as just 1 example.

I liked it.

Kind of tried to tie the star trek vision of common endeavor to the NASA age of common endeavor. The one we sold off to Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos.

The viewers largely didn’t, and now Trek is very pretty to look at, and even arguably more of a fun ride, but doesn’t lean into conveying the message of human aspiration and cooperation as it once had. That kind of ended with Enterprise, and I miss that.

It’s amazing how many people have come to see a lack of empathy as a strength.

John Lennon was better off not seeing the world turn into this.

AllonzeeLV,

Lol people who still believe there’s hope.

AllonzeeLV, (edited )

Do people actually watch all this capitalist glorification porn they’re coming out with?

At least the stylized, inaccurate band biopics are celebrating great music. But now they’re making shit like this and dramatizing the people that signed the deal to make Jordans. Dumb.

AllonzeeLV, (edited )

So that’s how he does it all in 1 night!

Santa bot swarm confirmed.

AllonzeeLV, (edited )

You’re right, but We’ll get what we deserve when it comes to that.

The one thing the greedy tech bastardizers have never been able to do is shut down, not for lack of trying, the benevolent open source and human knowledge belongs to the world movements. The seven seas are still free and the most motivated thinkers are still the open source ones, matey.

They have nothing that isn’t already being extrapolated and tinkered with on private servers. If they use the soon to come AGI to make the peasant’s lives even more bleak, they might not like the damage in kind that can be done with some militant engineer’s homebrew anti-cap AGI. What could that do? Engineer a plague? Mass delete banking records? Who knows but it’s increasingly likely we’ll find out!

If wealthy “winner” humans continue to insist on making most humans live’s increasingly desperate, solely because they are never getting richer fast enough and without regard to the concept of Mutually assured destruction, then our species will have to experience the inevitable consequences of that choice. They have the capital, so its on them.

AllonzeeLV, (edited )

In this case I’m glad. We are close to achieving the technology to let technology self-iterate and propagate.

The direction our species chooses to apply this technology will be a reflection and measure of who we are with commensurate rewards and/or consequences.

Will some voices of sanity let us harness the power of this atom to enlighten the world? Or will we follow tradition and use our newfound power to make big boomie boom rival tribe over there, yet again?

AllonzeeLV,

Same!

Either way, It’s main event time and we’re both fortunate enough to have tickets! I’ll even stay for the apocalypse and see how I do, to a point.

“If you can’t explain it to a six year old, then you don’t understand it yourself”

-Albert Einstein

If you were smart enough to generate this meme, I’d wager whatever It is was was probably explained poorly 3 times.

Say what you will about Sauron of Mordor, but at the end of the day he was just acting in rational self-interest, making big moves, was all in on expansion and growth, and no one can argue he was a hell of a job creator.

Then some jobless tree hugger from a commune in the woods killed him AND destroyed his private property just because Sauron wanted to develop that land and put those communists to work. Damn eco-terrorists sabotaging progress.

AllonzeeLV, (edited )

Fair, though I more meant the people who are effective asexuals because they were taught to be ashamed of sexuality in general and deny any sexual desire they have with vigorous effort to feel “pure.”

That’s a whole lot different than someone who just doesn’t really have those impulses. The former is an act and they have my pity because of how such people are usually raised/abused to be in a constant state of conflict and hatred of their own impulses, the latter is a completely valid identity.

AllonzeeLV,

“It’ll be great for your career… But we aren’t going to raise your pay right now for it.”

Hey, the peasants already bought the trickle down, we’ll piss prosperity on you one day economics bullshit, so they’ll believe anything!

Everyone has at least one vice.

This one was adrenaline.

AllonzeeLV, (edited )

I mean, have you met people?

Not a prize, us humans. Might make a friend, might lose a kidney! We’re a lottery.

Nihlism is a matter of perspective. I get it though. Some people thrive on structure while others feel incarcerated by it.

AllonzeeLV,

For better or worse, George made me the man I am today.

AllonzeeLV,

Conservation in general isn’t a human strong suit.

cbc.ca/…/study-space-junk-pollution-1.7010373

We are quite talented at the opposite, in fact.

AllonzeeLV,

The workers built the means, they just never owned them.

Let me guess, you think Steve Jobs made the iPhone because he pulled it out of his pocket on a stage and took the credit of engineers standing on the shoulders of publically funded basic research? Steve jobs couldn’t engineer his way out of a wet paper bag, and that is well documented.

AllonzeeLV,

Why? Things are the way they are because a lot of people believe it unironically.

AllonzeeLV,

Hey now, if we don’t keep ruining real people’s lives by brutally enforcing imaginary lines on this Earth we all share, the terrorists win… or something.

Because if we can’t feel superior to people accross that line over there, and they can’t cope by feeling superior to other people accross a different line, how will we console our fragile human egos?!
