Go back with ad block so they loose money on data and power

But don’t participate. Don’t vote, don’t comment. Optionally don’t login as well. You get free entertainment and they loose money.

Considering the scale of metadata musicbrainz has, I am surprised that it still needs more work according to your comment.
You probably mean usability and not the backend/data, right?

To me the *arrs are great enough for the wishlist/todo factor alone.
The download/management feature is just the cherry on top.

Indifferent.
I use both torrent und usenet, public and private trackers and indexers.

Le Baguette are probably the reason.

Is there a place with the complete Doctor Who collection (Classic, Modern, AND spin-offs)?

Unfortunately the BBC has decided Australia doesn’t get to watch any Doctor Who that was released before 2005 or is a spin-off. So uh, anyone got a plex share or torrent with the lot? Immediate preference is getting the same versions as what is available on iPlayer in the UK, but would settle for DVD rips if that’s what’s...

Probably Usenet.
High retention piracy.
Or you become a member of a private tracker and maybe they have a super collection.

Usually private trackers.

CrybtoBro Spam app. I’d rather go with Safari.
But since I use Firefox I am spared from Chromium and the crypto ad stuff.

I’d argue it would be more suited for weekly/monthly magazines.
But for books alone I’d prefer manual work and calibre to organize it.

Hollywood to UK Govt: Investigating Pirates "Increasingly Difficult" * TorrentFreak (lemmy.dbzer0.com)

Summary: A recent UK government inquiry into the challenges faced by the film and high-end television industry has recently received submissions from major Hollywood studios advocating for KYC (know your customer) rules for hosting providers, similar to banking regulations to identify money laundering. If adopted, this would...

Same thought. Why should I even want to host in GB. The host prices are probably higher as well compared to other (geologically) EU countries.

Why go through the trouble of pirating if you can pay for it and get a reasonable service?

That’s why it’s a service problem.
As a student (around 5-6 years ago) my friend and I both payed for a netflix account via gift cards because we wanted it and didn’t have paypal or credit cards.

Now I pirate because there are way too many services, for too high of an asking price and fragmented catalog.
Want to see all the seasons of a show? Gotta subscribe to two or more services because one stroke a deal with the publisher while the 2nd got the other part.
Also censoring both in episode and by removing whole episodes, changing parts of something etc etc.

Fuck all the above. :|
I can just call up radarr, search the movie by the parameters I set up beforehand and decide what version I want and done.

Recommendations for hosters? If you have a reflink I’d use if it’s a good plan.

It fractures good discussions and fosters more social bubbles.
What we’d need is a sort of mirroring by willingly crossposting and, by that design, share the conversation as a whole and not as a pointer to the original + local discussion.

Especially annoying with tech news scrolling past 5 identical posts because we have 5 different types of r/technology or c/technology (too lazy to link a specific one…)

Appoxo,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

I only filter by subbed and (to not miss) also wanna see all the tech news I can get so I will sub to multiple.
I would like a design like crossposting but instead of either or the other make it a feature.

With your feedback in my mind I’d propose this idea:
Share the discussion as a user to another community like crossposting. As a visitor/browser of the communitx it was posted on, you can now set a switch to either see all content discussed by all communities in one post (and somehow federated to all other instances) or filter by a specific one because one instance is always the toxic one.
If a mods decides it doesnt fit, he doesnt delete/take down the post but instead defederates the instance from this one post.
With that design it should combat spam posting the same post as it can’t be spoofed.
It would also respect user blocked instances.

Sort of a federated post in the fediverse.
I don’t know how that would be solved in lemmy nor the fediverse protocol but it sounds plausible as a standout feature.

Anyone else feels like they want to destroy their old sim and never give their contact to anyone ever again?

If signal gets the new username feature, this just might be what i do, so fricking tired of people just blindly giving random apps and websites their contact permissions and they get my contact as well, and there’s nothing i can do about it

Depends on your client (say qbittorrent), your tracker (say 1337x) and their rules (say only tv and movie but no audio).

Just as a heads up: Most prefer FLAC or WAV since that’s the best possible quality. MP3 can be converted from them.
Well received are logs how close it copied the data from the source or if it has read errors (bitflips etc.).
EAC (ExactAudioCopy) for example does it. There are others but tutorials can be searched rather easy. Make sure to adhere to the more audiophile forums for advice but don’t believe every esoteric opinion from them.
Also private trackers usually have guides or tutorials in their wiki, faq or forums. Make sure to pay a visit.

A few questions to people who have struggled long-term with fatigue, exhaustion, insomnia, etc.: what do you do to keep awake for a full-time workday?
