BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to asklemmy in What's an amusing thing to say before going under general anesthesia?

You can do what my 4yo did before his last surgery: shout out “WAIT WAIT WAIT!” right before they put on your mask or give you the drip, then hold out your fist and say, “FIST BUMP!”

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to memes in Let's hope it never has to come to this

How about you just stick the tube as close as possible to the source of the smoke and take a couple deep breaths? Quicker death that way.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to asklemmy in What are the best steps to reduce the wealth of billionaires?

A wealth tax does seem warranted for billionaires. I don’t like the idea of taxing something inert but honestly that’s how they make money. They borrow against thousands of shares at a time and pay zero taxes on the loan.

Lae’zel response seems a bit too nice. My best effort…

Lae’zel:

Is that an excuse?

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to linux in Cleanest way to maintain AppImage installations?

If you’re taking a manual approach I would use a symlink:

$ ln -s /path/to/stuff/Bitwarden.1.0.7.appimage /path/to/stuff/Bitwarden.appimage

Then you can hang on to a previous version just in case, plus you can see from the original filename what version you’re on.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to upliftingnews in Denver experimented with giving people $1,000 a month. It reduced homelessness and increased full-time employment, a study found.

Or use them as a political demon to rally our base?

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to asklemmy in What are some generational differences between millennials and Gen Z ?

The direction we prefer for scrolling.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to linuxmemes in Everyone loves snaps

Just a few days ago I wrestled with the overzealous sandboxing and security of the Chromium snap. Had to get a Flatpak and even then had to use some flags to get the proper permissions enabled. Next time I do a refresh I’m going with Debian.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to baldurs_gate_3 in Metal tastes of the party

Karlach’s gotta have at least one Babymetal album in rotation.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to asklemmy in Mother-in-Law bought family tickets to Medieval Times for tonight, but they're on strike and scabs are doing the show...

I think you have a good compromise of donating to their cause. Personally I wouldn’t have gone and had a talk with my kids about the importance of standing up for your beliefs (and sorry if you want to go anyway, you’re not old enough to drive). Even if the money’s been spent I wouldn’t go as it still hurts the moral of strikers and reinforces the scabs decision to cross the line.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to asklemmy in So is the US slipping into Civil War?

Dumbasses once again saying, “Now is the time!” when they’re clearly outnumbered and outgunned.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to baldurs_gate_3 in Missclicks in Honour Mode

There’s been at least a dozen times where I meant to switch party members and ended up attacking them instead. Really wish there was a confirmation click. I think I’ve had to hit a party member only one time ever because they were asleep or whatnot.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to asklemmy in What's a food you forget you like? Then you eat it, and wonder why you don't buy it more often?

Edible yes, but smoked is the way to go.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to asklemmy in What's a sci-fi or fantasy book or series that you want to see adapted as a movie/television series?

Abhorsen / Old Kingdom series.

I don’t like reading but I breezed through the first three books. I think all the dark, necromancy type stuff would be generally well received. The gates of the afterlife also sound really cool to be put in a visual form.

BrianTheeBiscuiteer, to asklemmy in Former religious lemmings, what made you quit religion or stop being a believer?
