Old dude here. This could actually be a real book. The Choose Your Own Adventure series were huge in the 80s and 90s. They produced dozens of books across multiple collections. This weird ass cover is par for the course.

I went and looked this up, turns out drinking acetone isn’t as outright dangerous as I expected. Our bodies produce a little of the stuff when breaking down fat, into ketones. It’s only a problem when there’s too much of the stuff for the liver to process.

So basically it’s like drinking rubbing alcohol.

… Which you still shouldn’t do.
