Eheran,

Is that really so or just an assumption?

Where to turn to if I need books that are paywalled behind overly expensive academic portals?

I need some books paywalled behind Oxford Politics Trove and they aren’t on Anna’s lib, Zlib, Libgen, Memory of the World, Aaarg, or the Internet Archive. Not sure to whom else to turn to. I hate that knowledge like this is paywalled, and I highly doubt the authors will be paid if I pay the highway robbery of a price.

Eheran,

That would be really crappy. Don’t do that.

Eheran,

Is energy efficiency of any concern?

Eheran,

I think that would be too much. A bowling ball is really smooth. It would not roll as well with such deviations all over the place.

At a diameter of 22 cm, the roughness would have to be in the order of 0.3 mm, which would not just be visible due to the distorted reflections, it would even be audible while rolling.

Eheran,

Get a board with a TP5000. Like this one here.

Don’t charge LFP to 4.2 volt! The crude “check voltage and if below 3.6 V keep charging” is okay too as long as the maximum current is within battery spec. But measure while charging, don’t turn that off to measure the open circuit voltage.

Eheran,

What you are talking about is nothing special at all and not following a charging curve. The curve automatically looks the way it does when charging CCCV. Constant Current -> Constant Voltage.

[question] for the chemistry types- making chicken soup. Why did lemon juice turn the light brown chicken stock almost white?

Okay, so I was making chicken soup from stock I had made using a (lightly,) browned carcus and neck. just before dumping the the dumplings into it, the stock’s color was a nice light brown. I added about 1/4 cup of lemon juice, turned my back for 30 seconds after a stir and it turned it an almost milky-off white. Eventually it...

Eheran,

You are technically correct, but:

  1. When you already only compare 3 groups and 2 are fairly close to each other while one is far off, it is nonsensical to point out large differences between the 2 cohorts. They defined them to be that way.
  2. This is not a scientific paper, it is not even a STEM related newspaper. Leave such nonsense out of there. Nobody needs a study to find that more rain = more water.
Eheran,

When a creator abandons his community, how can anyone else take over? Could the creator “come back” later?

Eheran,

So how does the original creator loses his powers and how do others take it? Can that mechanism be abused?

Eheran,

Okay. Then they add more and it will boil quickly. I guess the question boiles (huehue) down to how much water you can turn into stream per amount of lava or the inverse, how much lava you can cool down per amount of water.

The phase change from liquid water to stream will, by the way, not just contribute significantly but be by far the majority of energy needed. Simply heating water up, ignoring the phase change and changes of the heat capacity, with the same energy as it takes to go from liquid to gas (2257 kJ/kg) would result in a temperature rise of… dT = 2257 kJ/kg / 4.2 kJ/(kg*K) = 537 K

Eheran,

“Bruh”, everyone knows what happens, we are looking at it in the video. Lava gets cold, water hot. Obviously. There is not much to go on about.

Eheran,

Why is there only one without red eyes? Obviously 2 wins then. 1 and 3 are almost exactly the same, except that 3 knows what it is doing and 1 is like ??

But to be honest they are all not spectacular.
