I’ll start off by saying that he has a bad past life. He was obviously abused by his previous owners and straight up abandoned in the woods. He has bad anxiety that he is on Prozac for, and it seems to be helping for the most part....
The room I’m in isn’t good for fetch or stuff like that. I’m going to see if my parents can help me into the yard tomorrow so I can play with all of the dogs. My sister said she made up a new game with them that they love but won’t go into more detail lol.
I’ve given my dogs kongs, but the beagle loses interest if he can’t easily get the stuff out. If I make the kings easy, he’ll eat it all in 30 seconds. The puppy isn’t food motivated and just ignores the kongs.
I work at an MSP, and got sexually harassed by a client recently. I just found out he got fired over it. I get to disable all of his accounts and stuff. It’s so amazing.
Just curious as I’ve never been on the other side of the counter, how does this sort of thing tend to work at restaurants? Fast food and fast-casual places are where I’ve heard customers say things “pile as much lettuce on there as you’re allowed to” - is there ever a limit your supervisor instructed you for things...
I’m not a fast food worker, but made the mistake of ordering the biggest order size of nuggets at a McDonald’s in college. I waited 30 mins to get 150 nuggets. I didn’t think I was going to get so many. I had enough to share with an entire class of mine on campus.
A few questions to people who have struggled long-term with fatigue, exhaustion, insomnia, etc.: what do you do to keep awake for a full-time workday? Black coffee, supplements, herbs, drugs/prescriptions, other? None, and it required a lifecycle habit change? Have you had success with “desk” jobs sitting all day, or had to...
This applies the when I was working in an office. I’m wfh because of an injury, but will be returning part time next month.
I take my second dose of ADHD medication at 11:30. Right when I start my lunch. I try not to include too many carbs in my lunch because that will make me sleepy.
I also make sure to take the long way back to my desk after using the bathroom to get my blood pumping.
I also drink absurd amounts of coffee and listen to energetic music.
When I am working from home I take a nap during my lunch lol.
I could look into that. I got a udemy course on sale that has simulations and stuff. If those don’t cover what I am struggling with, I can totally see if we can spin up some temporary vms
I know that I have to get a specific Microsoft cert to get discussions on a promotion started. I attempted the cert exam and failed pretty badly. Gotta study more.
I plan on asking for specific feedback and how I can improve and all that.
I am interested in literally everything. I wanna learn more server stuff and phone systems especially. I am last in line to learn phones though. I do a lot of basic stuff with most of the things you’ve listed, though. I’m currently trying to fix the backups on a client’s server and I’m actually making progress on my own.
I hope you can find a company as good as mine. I feel appreciated and cared for for the first time at a job. I broke my ankle and leg in October and had to have surgery to fix it. Everyone has been incredibly accommodating and supportive during my recovery. When I was in the hospital after the injury, I was either too high or crying too much to update my bosses on my condition. My mom did the calling for me and the owner of the company had her tell me that I don’t need to worry about keeping my job and focus on recovering. I ugly cried when I was told that.
Thank you for such a detailed response! My company pays for the first attempt at a cert test, but I have to pay for it myself if I fail and have to retake it. I am also going to ask for a raise if one isn’t offered. I had to do a self-evaluation and listed a bunch of stuff I want to learn and start doing. I have to get help from other techs for a lot of stuff that I end up not understanding, and I want to not have to rely on them so much going forward. Like, they’re more than happy to help me, but I don’t want them to put their work aside for me. As for my coworkers, they’re all absolutely amazing. I consider them work friends and we are close and support each other.
My parents got me one of them fancy countertop air fryer/oven things and idk what to cook first when I get it set up. According to the box, it does everything a normal oven does as well as air fries. It can hold two whole chickens or 1 frozen pizza. It came with a rack for things like toast and a baking sheet. I also have a...
This isn’t a wild bird. I raised him from a day old, but the last Muscovy we had tasted a bit gamey. We also butchered it then immediately cooked it. Like the whole process took 3 hours. My stepfather is refrigerating the bird before butchering this time to see if that helps with taste any. I also decided on making duck noodles soup because I’m not in the mood for potatos lol. I got carrots, garlic, mushrooms, vegetable stock extra wide egg noodles, and a seasoning mix called a poultry bouquet. I’m gonna roast the meat with a little olive oil and the poultry bouquet and then put everything in a slow cooker.

I am a level 1 help desk tech at an MSP. I’ve been at this job for a year. I’ve been working in IT for 1.5 years, though....

I am in one of those walking boot cast things for the foreseeable future. I bought sharpies to decorate it so it isn't as terrible. How should I decorate it?
I’ll probably be in the boot until at least February. It has to be work appropriate because I’ll be back at the office part time starting next month
I've recently gotten into coloring. what should I do with the crazy amount of finished coloring pages? Most are mandalas and all have bright colors
