Valmond,

And I’m totally in favour of that. I was just hitting at the shitty click bait title.

I feel like the Steam Deck is the best proof of Gabe Newell's quote that "piracy is a service issue."

They could have easily crammed the Steam Deck full of stuff to make it hard to use for piracy - locking down everything, making it usable only to play games you legitimately own, force you to go through who knows what hoops in order to play games on it. That’s what Nintendo or Apple or most other companies do....

Valmond,

Fair enough, I completely forgot about bringing games, with forceps 😊, to the Linux platform.

Mea culpa.

I’m probably just a tiny bit itchy after years on Reddit.

Valmond,

Yeah, even if it was from the beginning of dawn. No need to check out tape before the guy parked his bike.

Valmond,

Ha ha nice name ^^

So carbon ink or Indian :-D ? I made a community for art in progress !aip to share progress, there are so many parameters and combinations…

So what are you drawing and what are inspiring you most?

Valmond,

Cool! Post as you like, and share other art communities too, IMO we’re all in it together!

Greebles, guess I just learned a new word :-D that seems, hrm, time consuming to say the least O_o when can we see an example?

Cheers

Valmond,

You’re changing the question here, all democratic countries has their flaws for diverse reasons (France would be that as there is a two round system, lots of small parties would undermine the democratic outcome, I guess. Sometimes it’s history, almost always it can be better. But we’re democracies at least).

Russia is a dictatorship.

They want Legitimacy and if we, the west, sends people, and even better, we send people and they find no errors (in the small thing they investigate because believe me, Russia won’t allow us to send people checking out other things), that will bring Legitimacy to the dictatorship.

Valmond,

Oh no, a Russ bot, how unsatisfying.

Valmond,

Nah, just an astroturfer. Apparently he’s doing it for free too lol.

Valmond,

Or the French (ugh, some relatives was from Lithuania so maybe not that french?)

With cut up boiled (in France I guess “hard” boiled, but just so that the yellow isn’t liquid any more) eggs, onions (red, sweet , white, whatever just cut them more if they’re too ‘strong’, use the amount you find adequate(IMO for a foreigner this is so French)) and a mustard-olive oil-vinegar sauce (fluffed up obviously, not just mixing. Mustard + a LITTLE vinegar and then slowly mix the oil in with the gentle battering by a small spoon…).

Potatoes cut up too ofc (boiled beforehand) and just delicately mix it all (or you’ll get a sort of claylike thing. Totally good but less enjoyable).

Pff, I’m just off the table and I’m thinking of the next meal already 😊

Valmond,

I see you are working, but these threads are like 7-8 days old. IMO it’s a bit useless.

Valmond,

I don’t know really, I mean the (my) posts went up, worked out and somehow went to sleep forever.

You’re IMO doing the stack overflow approach, so yeah that’s maybe the thing for keeping high value content. I’d not remove posts that easily just yet as there isn’t not that much quality content but that’s just me.

Cool that you’re doing it putting in the time, we’re all in this together!

Cheers

Valmond,

Uh no, I have a distinct backup system with Amazon glacier. My question was about day to say stuff, so that when a drive goes, or a mobo fries, I don’t have to go through all the hassle reinstalling and reconfiguring everything.

Valmond,

Oh yes this seems like it, thanks!

Valmond,

Who are the two youngsters behind him?

What inconsequential or surprisingly good thing can I get from Aliexpress?

Im curious as I usually use the site very occasionally to get certain electronic parts or order from PCBway like I just picked up some cheap but infinitely better than stock gps antennas for my LoRa T beams and im about to get a set of also still cheap but much better than stock 915mhz antennas but i kinda wanna throw some other...

Valmond,

Electronics, any kind of computer cables, switches, kvm, router, hub, mouse-wiggler etc.

Soldering station, air filters, belts, phone chargers, usb cables. NEMA stepper motors.

Bike lights. 18650 Batteries. Drones. NFC tags. Light table. Sun glasses.

IR Thermometer, blood oxygen tester.

I even bought socks there, quite ok and dirt cheap!

Reading glasses.

I’d avoid :

Fountain pens (they’re “ok” but not Lamy Safari quality), wrist watches suck badly. Small scissors.

I buy so much on AliExpress 😅

Valmond,

Ah Terry Pratchett. Mortimer was it, right? I have mostly read the French translations so I might be wrong here.

Valmond,

Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?

(Who’s guarding the guardians)

Valmond,

One thing for long range electric hauling is high voltage DC lines, or so I learned when I worked for EDF/RTE

400.000+ volt DC.

I do not know the theory behind it though, and IIRC its for Europe and land.
