angrystego,

You know, there can be different strategies and those that are not used by you don’t have to be wrong. They can all be useful in different circumstances.

angrystego,

Except it works, I’ve seen people learn a language with it to the point they’re capable of quite good communication in about 2 years.

angrystego,

I guess there are different kinds of people and for some, Duo works, while for others it doesn’t. I still think it’s a great tool

angrystego,

This feature works for me. I tend to try to learn too much too fast. This regulates the time I spend learning in one day based on how tired I am. When it’s too much, the mistakes accumulate and I’m forced to quit it for the day.

The DCEU ends not with a bang, but a wimper. (lemmy.ml)

10 years after Zod’s snapped neck, Martha, “some kinda Suicide Squad”, CGI moustache, rennouncing your wish, the hiearchy of power changing, and Speed Force PS1 graphics, the DC Extended Universe finally comes to a close. And it ends the same way it started - with a Rotten score....

angrystego,

Movie making and planning takes a lot of time and money. It’s done in advance. You can’t just stop everything that’s been in production from releasing.

angrystego,

In totalitarian countries, those who listen to certain types of music are persecuted, because it links them with demografic that can be threatening to the regime. Even if your country is not totalitarian now, the existence of this data could be potentionally harmful to you in the future (just like any data, really).

angrystego,

Yeah, it’s great to be safe in your country. I enjoy it too, fortunately. But it’s not the same everywhere.

angrystego,

Do you have no freezers in your lab? Can recommend. Those buggers make every lab a sauna.

What is your unpopular flim opinion

I’ll go first. Mine is that I can’t stand the Deadpool movies. They are self aware and self referential to an obnoxious degree. It’s like being continually reminded that I am in a movie. I swear the success of that movie has directly lead to every blockbuster having to have a joke every 30 seconds

angrystego,

I thought Alien 3 was popular. I’ll give you an unpopular opinion: Alien 4 was pretty okay and I’d watch it again. Predator 2 is an overall beloved movie, just like Terminator 2.

angrystego,

Sucking is subjective. The same film can not suck for you and suck for BoastfulDaedra. That’s what an unpopular opinion is about - if you disagree with them, you should upvote them!

angrystego,

I saw a different season 3 I guess. The humor was gone but the kind and progressive approach to problems that I like about Trek was kinda gone too.

angrystego,

Omg, what a cool, funny and edgy comment section!

angrystego,

I like the nubs, they’re beautifully regular and antislippery.

angrystego,

Yeah, I’m more of a ‘waving my stick in the air, cutting nettles with it and showing others how cool the stick is’ kind of person.

angrystego,

That’s not universally true. I know several people with PhD who have encyclopedic knowledge completely outside their specialisation. Some people are just super intelligent, talented and have enormous memory. The world is not fair.

angrystego,

Not really. Babies have brown fat as default. Adults have white fat which can turn brown in response to cold exposure (not as much as in babies, so it’s also called beige fat). Brown of beige though, it works the same - there’s a high count of mitochondria in the cells and the tissue can produce heat and make you feel (and be) warmer. It also helps with weight loss, stimulates the immune system and lowers inflammation.

angrystego,

I always imagined the rock makes the scissors blunt. That would work for a stick too.

angrystego,

The Flash is not MCU. The rest is true.

angrystego,

The owners had to have huge self-control not to name the cat Meowgli.
