I got a 42% score, but I really feel that this is because it does not take into account the fact that people have different threat models. I don’t really care that Meta has a photo of my coffee that I shared to my friends. Pretty much my only criteria for me when sending stuff on unsecured chats is if the app got hacked, would I be ashamed if it got public.
I just started my internship, and I have to say, it is so good not to have to worry about exams, projects and so on aftera full day of school and on weekends. When I close the lid of the laptop, the day is over. Plus I get smaller days, from 9 to 5 instead of from 8 to 5/6. I have never had as much free time
People like this are the worst. They’ll say the most terrible thing ever said, then keep arguing for 20 minutes then when they are getting tired they just say they were joking and trolling and all that…
Idk for most people, but the reason I use proton mail is to avoid google parsing everything I receive to send me ads. I “have nothing to hide” on a legal pov, I’m not a criminal, the worst offence I do is like Jay walking or crossing at a red light on foot when there is no one at midnight. I don’t use proton services to protect myself from the law (or in other words to avoid the consequences of my acts), I just want to be a customer instead of a product.
If you don’t want a clevo/tongfang laptop with a custom logo on the lid, look at Framework, Starlabs, Purism, Dell or Lenovo, though the last two don’t offer Linux on most models.
If you don’t really care about the OEM, but still want a “guaranteed” good Linux experience, then System76, Tuxedo or Slimbook should fit your needs. Just consider that Slimbook and Tuxedo are from Europe so you could get duties if you’re in the US
Wowzer, ok, that’s seriously impressive though, like in 2022 I feel we were stuck at 2-2.5% and in 2023 we passed 3% for the first time and now we’re at almost 4??? That’s like DOUBLING the market share in a year
