He also has an omnipotent trickster god that decided to make him a better person as a hobby. There’s no way Q wouldn’t turn Picard’s casino trip into one of his “trials”.
Why are they in contact with the family and not with the reporter directly? It’s not like we are 1823 and communication has to be sent on precious missives traversing dangerous seas.
If you are used to reading subtitles you can read them almost subconsciously. And you don’t need to understand the language to get things like emotion out of it. I would even go as far as saying that getting used to reading the emotions of someone that doesn’t speak the same language as you is essential to fully develop a sense of empathy.
Making the game harder also made a smaller game last longer. If you remove the difficulty factor of lots of most old games, either by tweaking it or mastering it, then it becomes possible to beat the game in a matter of minutes.
It’s well documented that Santa exploits a veritable army of slave scouts to keep the list, and then he uses a gazillion slaves to manufacture the toys in the mother of all sweatshops. Dude just waves out of the carriage like a British monarch.
The Vulcan Science Directorate dogmatic views are not logical, and proves that Vulcans are full of shit when they claim to be ruled by logic. In reality their main driver is fear (even that’s what drives them to try to suppress their emotions).
Star Trek TNG had a Space Loki on steroids driving key points of the plot so what’s the issue with a Space Yggrasil? Star Trek was never supposed to be hard sci-fi in the first place.
Concepts inspired by the idea of the World Tree are also common in other sci-fi works.
Of course, everyone knows you start development of a new game from the code base of the previous, but you aren’t allowed to change or delete any of the old code, you need to copy paste the functions and append a version number. It’s called version control.
Qualcomm brought a company named Nuvia, which are ex-Apple engineers that help designed the M series Apple silicon chips to produce Oryon which exceeds Apple’s M2 Max in single threaded benchmarks....
Lots of tech companies might be interested. For example, at my work we are now stuck half way between x64 and arm, both on the server side and on the developers side (Linux users are on x64 and Mac users are on arm). While multiarch OCI/docker containers minimize the pains caused by this, it would still be easier to go back to a single architecture.
In Discovery they explicitly show it going full Q when testing Georgiou, so it’s entirely possible it allowed people to do stupid stuff as a test or a lesson.
But you’re right, the UX sucks, and there are other ways to detect and limit bots that don’t impact legitimate users as much - but Google needs to train their AI, and developers need to cargo cult stuff.
What the international law cares about is “sovereign states” or “sovereign subjects of international law” not countries which is a much more informal term. Sovereign states technically don’t even need a territory - 122 states have official diplomatic relations with the Sovereign Military Order of Malta (not to be confused with the Republic of Malta) which has had no territory since 1799.
Ergomania (excessive devotion to work) is an actual mental health symptom, and it can manifest as part of several mental illnesses.
And even their employers should try to get them appropriate treatment because “workaholics” tend to have very low productivity - they don’t work well in teams and are often too tired to be effective.
Companies that sell “enterprisy” laptops (like Dell and Lenovo) usually sell a few models with Linux. And while not a laptop I wouldn’t be surprised if almost half of Desktop Linux users today have a Steam Deck.
The common part in the loud and obnoxious is the American not Jewish though. Also (non-native-)Americans haven’t suffered several attempts of genociding them over the centuries so the generalization is nowhere as dangerous.
