Who had participated in the impromptu relay community of r/search?

kargarocP4, in Taking 11 years of data contribution with me! Train your AI with this, Reddit! (Power Delete Suite)

So the question is, will this back-up my posts to a file as well?

GrossGhost,
@GrossGhost@kbin.social avatar

You have the option to save everything to a text file. Power Delete Suite works very well.

Be careful. When I tried this it didn't quite work - I got a handful of comments, but a bunch were missing and the csv was obviously truncated. Others have reported similar results as well. See https://kbin.social/m/RedditMigration/t/71867/Poll-Power-Delete-Suite-users-are-you-saving-your-content

I had another way of grabbing everything, see https://kbin.social/m/RedditMigration/t/65260/PSA-Here-s-exactly-what-to-do-if-you-hit-the

Shelena, in It feels a lot nicer here on lemmy / kbin

I agree. I am a very shy person, so, it is not easy for me to comment, even if it is anonymous. I always think that nobody is waiting to hear from me in the enormous stream of other comments that are there as well. At the same time, if by some accident someone actually reads your comment, I feel that if you have a different way of wording or a different opinion, your head will get chopped off.

Because there are far less comments here, I feel like I can actually contribute something to the discussion. And people seem to be just nicer and more willing to understand each other instead of just repeating the same stuff over and over again. I like it better here!

agreed! you make great points

Maybe one of the reasons they are shutting down the API. They just don’t have an answer to LLM powered bots

muzzle, in I'm no climate scientist, but it looks to me like we might have skipped over oops.
@muzzle@kbin.social avatar

No dear, this is still the oops! part. You have no idea how horrible the fuck! age is going to be.

Lol. Original title said UI. I meant AI. You all are cracking me up though.

dust_accelerator, in Taking 11 years of data contribution with me! Train your AI with this, Reddit! (Power Delete Suite)

I might be a spiteful fucker, but I am going to wait for the API changes. Then use a VM based AutoGUI bot to randomly scramble stuff up, putting nice load on the site, all the while acting like a "real" person. Good luck restoring/countering that bitchboy spez!

Mwahahaha

The Snoo site really isn't gonna make it, huh

Sucks to see. But it also sucks to suck.

Fuck Reddit. Just commenting for the sake of commenting^^

it really was the best app. no bloat, easy to modify and navigate. i hope DBrady finds a way to work some magic over here with Lemmy.

sliceable_aspirin,

I really wish Christen would reconsider or we could crowd-source"buying" Apollo. Nothing against Mlem (which is already very good considering how fast all this has been playing out)

CylonBunny,
@CylonBunny@lemmy.world avatar

Try Wefwef. I was hesitant about it because it’s a web app and because of the name, but it really runs well and is by far the closest to Apollo I’ve seen yet, both Mlem and Memmy are okay, but using Wefwef I keep forgetting I’m not using Apollo. And it is more full featured than either of the other two are yet.

I’m wondering if Reddit will just be a place for AI/bots to create/replicate content, and the people (read: “normies”/people who don’t care what social media website they use as long as they can consume content) there will be interacting with said bots. All that just to drive traffic and appease shareholders.

Not sure if I’m just paranoid or if this is the case. I know that there are cases like this, but I wonder how deep it goes, or if it has been like that for a long time.

Wellp, long gone are the days of me typing a question and ending it with “Reddit”, now it’s 100% Lemmy/Kbin/Mastodon.

I've been alternating between Kbin/Lemmy and Squabble after generally being a lurker on Reddit, and the communities for both seem a lot friendlier and willing to engage in actual discussion. So much so that I've actually started posting/commenting.
It also helps that the top comments aren't all the same overused bad joke.

MagpieMama, in The Threadiverse hits 100K active users, 2 weeks after reaching 50K.

What the problem is going to be is attracting the average user. I'm an average, 35-45, mom, tech user. I am struggling on kbin so far. But I'll get there.
