Yet another app shutting down. Boost closing on the 1st (www.reddit.com)
Google thinks its new Perspectives tab will finally get you to stop adding 'Reddit' to searches (www.androidpolice.com)
While the technology shows promise, early testers have found that it falls short of a well-known search trick: adding "reddit" to the end of queries. Instead of directing readers to sites targeting SEO traffic, this straightforward technique draws on the knowledge of Reddit's community to provide actual help from forum...

On Reddit at reddit.com/r/redditalternatives, people are talking about a "Reddit 2.0." What do you suggest?

What's your opinion on cross-posting?
One of the hurdles to change for users switching from reddit to a federated platform is less content. The logic goes: “smaller community, less content, I can see i’m missing out on stuff over there so I’m not going to switch away”....
now that i don't have a reddit account, i guess i can tell you guys about secret communities
someone on reddit made some secret subreddits for certain acievements:...
Relay for Reddit is continuing as a subscription service (feddit.uk)
Not sure how I feel about this tbh, fair play if that’s what he wants to do. I don’t think it will make me stay with reddit. The community feel of lemmy and kbin is making me finally enjoy contributing again. Towards the end with reddit it felt so… Pointless.

Christian Selig (@christianselig@mastodon.social): "Really Important Apollo Update...." (indieweb.social)
"I just released a really important Apollo update that adds the ability for users with remaining subscription time left to decline an automatic refund. Devs pay refunds out of pocket, and this will be about $250K, so I thank you for your consideration. ❤️ Also, this update includes an amazing "Goodbye Apollo Wallpaper Set”...

With all the migration caused by the downfall of reddit/twitter i feel this Essay brings a nice insight to the table, long but worthy read. (catvalente.substack.com)
the feeling of dredd i’ve had (and i bet many are with me) since reddit announced the changes to the API and elon bought twitter, has been perfectly represented in this essay. Once again we migrate from a place where we built a community, because a bunch of greedy assholes can’t fathom a world where people embrace human...

I'm new here. I'm using connect for Lemmy on Android....
Lemmy lets you edit the title of your post
Something that I really appreciate after moving here from Reddit: I can finally edit titles!...
The Apollo inspired wefwef.app is the best Lemmy app/webapp right now, and its not even close. (lemmy.world)
This Apollo inspired Lemmy website can be installed as a webapp on any phone, and it works flawlessly and has a beautiful design. Currently, it's the best Lemmy app. I highly recommend it.

What is happening with Infinity for Reddit currently?
I recently opened the app to ensure that it infact does not work anymore, but it just showed me the newest feed, like it did before. What is going on here? Are people funding this? Or have they switched to a third party API for read only?
Is there 'etiquette' for choosing which instance your migrated subreddit is hosted on?
This question may be moot but it’s something I’ve been thinking about. I’ve only recently jumped into this brave new world so you’ll have to forgive my ignorance....
