l3mming, in In which game did you spend the most hours?

7 Days to Die. It’s an incredibly underrated game. I’d describe it as Minecraft, but for adults.

majere,

I’m gonna hold that is was immensely more fun around A10-12, but to be fair I haven’t tried the latest release.

pixel, in What are your favorite "ugly" games?
@pixel@beehaw.org avatar

I remembered thinking teleglitch was absolutely fascinating a while back. Not exactly a pretty game but it’s not ugly either, the chromatic aberration effects on collisions is real pretty imo, even if the underlying art is rather spartan

PlasmaK, in Be honest, do you still use reddit?

If a search directs me there or if there is some news that I really need to check. I have abandoned the account.

Underwaterbob, (edited ) in In which game did you spend the most hours?

How on Earth does one spend 557 hours on Final Fantasy VI? I’ve finished it at least a half-dozen times over the years since it came out, and I doubt I’ve spent that much time with it. And at least one of those sessions I got everyone to max level and taught them every spell in the game. I suppose I have not taught Gau all the possible Rages, but doing that sounds insufferable.

Edit: Are replies broken? This was a reply to a comment, but it showed up as a separate comment.

Looking at 600+ hours in Rimworld, and probably even more in Dwarf Fortress but 200+ since the Steam release, it wasn’t tracked before.

bob_wiley, in Which is the most satisfying IO connector system, in your opinion?
@bob_wiley@lemmy.world avatar

Apple MagSafe. The magnets snap into place with 0 effort. You can do it quiet or make it click. There is no worry about putting stress on the port, as it can just pop off and back on.

The only big downside would be for things that require constant power, there is too big of a chance for it to disconnect. And if you’re talking about data IO, there would need to be a ton of protections in place to avoid corruption if the connection is lost during writes.

Alperto,

I agree! And it’s reversible, and it’s specially satisfying by holding it from the cable and just approaching it to the macbook and feel (it happens too fast to see it) how it moves and snaps into place no matter what. It’s the only one ever I always have had a 100% success rate ever.

GenBlob, in In which game did you spend the most hours?
@GenBlob@lemmy.world avatar

Team Fortress 2 with 2075 hours and that’s on an account I made 4 years ago. My old account had 3000+ hours.

hal_5700X, (edited ) in What gaming console / platform do you prefer?
@hal_5700X@lemmy.world avatar

PC. Sometimes Switch.

ao4571, in What movie did you rewatch most often?

There are few of them for me, but maybe Warrior (2011) is the favourite go to movie for me. If I’m overwhelmed by anything, it helps me reset myself and put things in perspective and get me in the mindset to fight back and stay strong.

nayminlwin, in What series did you rewatch most often?

Big Bang Theory and Modern Family.

They the first western sitcoms I watched and the comfort from watching them stuck with me.

konst, in In which game did you spend the most hours?

Stellaris

Hobovision, in Which is the most satisfying IO connector system, in your opinion?
@Hobovision@kbin.social avatar

I'm a sucker for any connector that has a nice solid spring load mechanism that pops into place when properly connected. It should sound like a movie sound effect of a gun being reloaded.

I've also used some really nice quick release steering wheels, like on race cars or racing sims, where they have a spline connector with a tight fit and a good spring load.

nickajeglin,

You ever used a Deutsch Weatherpak connector? We use them on mobile equipment. They have a spring loaded face seal then a solid lever lock that is plastic but substantial enough that it’s usable. They’re pretty good wire to wire connectors. I’ll take anything with a twist lock though, BNC etc.

AnaGram, in Be honest, do you still use reddit?

I’ve popped over a couple times too see what floats to the top of all (or whatever it is that’s displayed when you don’t log in), and a couple more times when I did a search and Reddit’s answers were part of the results set. But I honestly can’t be missing that much since every other soc media site I look at has at least half of their threads linking back to something that originated on Reddit.
