I plan on making two videos, one where I explain how Lemmy works and then how to post in a community. I'm going to do my own research but is there any points you want to give to a new user?
Does anyone else have this odd issue when browsing lemmy where it will auto snap to the top of the page every 2 seconds?
With all these new bot instances popping up, have you already seen these accounts actually raiding stuff? And can/do we defederate from those instances?
I was wondering how the pre-reddit lemmy members feel about the influx of ex-reddit. Have things got worst or better? Is there any lemmy etiquette that we are missing?
I've always been a lurker, but now seeing lemmy's growth, I figured I would like to contribute somehow....
Ranging from 500gb to 3tb. I already run a NAS.
I'm trying to create a curated list of lemmy communities. Any help in curating it would be appreciated. Contribute here.
As a long time Reddit user, there's something about Lemmy and the fediverse that feels really refreshing and new. I think it has to do with a few things......
Would sound stupid as I don't indepth of PeerTube yet but I have heard that PeerTube is federated video sharing platform. I also heard it can't hold much a load which makes sense as HD videos takes lots of load. That begs me the question why don't we use it for small/short videos(not those vertical videos) to build communities...
I’m using Jerboa, I don’t know if it is an app thing or a lack of content thing, but when sorting things by “hot” I only see old posts, should I only see things by new?
Even more strange is that when I type "PeerTube", some suggestions appear, but searching any of them will end up back on the "no results found" page....
Edit: kill it with fire
Ok, this is not going to be a well formulated question, because the concerns behind it are nebulous in my own head....
I’ll go first You can do it alone but you’ll run into problems. Others that have been through it have solved those problems. Ask around if you recognize a problem and you’ll most likely receive the best solution
As per the title. I’m obviously an old Bustard. Somebody please explain Rule to me.
I'm not seeing any ads, and these servers certainly have a cost.... So is this place entirely donation based, or what?
When I was a kid, it'd have to be Memorial Day. All the extended family would convene at the old family cemetery to decorate the graves. That isn't the weird thing... the weird thing was we treated it as a family reunion and picnicked together among the head stones.
I was glancing through the mod log and saw these two entries. Conspiracy theory communities were both removed for violating rule #3....
Tell the best experience or interaction you had on Reddit, and the worst one....
I've read some things online about it all but I'm not a total IT boff. Is it really true that Brave browser won't be able to block ads once the changes are made next year?...
With spez ascending the last few remaining levels of becoming an absolute wanker, it's about time I got more active and I have been wondering how should I be using Lemmy efficiently? Like many I migrated from Reddit and I was primarly using Apollo to browse through my subscribed subreddits....
Is there a way to make a link to a community of a foreign instance that opens on the instance of the user that clicks on it?...
