Be honest, do you still use reddit?

I used to check the front page at least once every day, and occassionally check specific subreddits. Now I don’t look at reddit unless theres some drama, like mods getting purged, then I’d go there and enjoy the drama. Occasionally there will be questions that only reddit has the answer to so I have to reluctantly use it. I got my uBlock Origin ready to kill all the ads. That shitty website will not get a cent out of me.

What about you? Do you still use reddit?

I created an new account just to advertise lemmy/kbin

diskmaster23,

Yes, mostly for sharing content here.

ThaijsClan,

I only use it when googling questions that I know reddit has the answer for. And I hate it the whole time. I spend only enough time on there to get my answer then immediately close the web page. Call me silly or what you will, but I personally want to give as little interaction with that website as possible now. Fuck u/spez

As for the drama, I subscribe to a couple Lemmy instances that share the drama through Lemmy, that way I can be in the loop without having to be on the actual website.

TheLonelyDude2049,

Yes. I even still use Sync for Reddit (patched by ReVanced Manager).

Captain_Nipples,

So I use revanced for youtube… does it only work with sync or would it work with RIF? I’m not sure how it actually works, but I know that it’s awesome for YT.

Anyways. I’m over Reddit now. If I Google something and it sends me to Reddit, I look for other sources before I use the Reddit link

TheLonelyDude2049,

Yes, you can patch RIF too. It actually works with most of the third-party apps.

bleepbloopbleep,

Didn’t visit at all since June.

And I don’t miss it :)

I don’t visit the homepage or use my mobile client. But it still pops up in searches and often has answers I need, for now.

RandomlyRight,

Only via libreddit.hu

TeenieBopper,

I still check out a couple hobby subs every day or two (via mobile browser, not the app). And if I’m looking for a certain type of information or advice, im still typing “[info desired] reddit” into google.

Lolors17,

Nope, nothing proprietary on my watch.

I_Has_A_Hat,

I still use reddit if I’m at my desktop which is rarely. Haven’t touched it on mobile since the API change.

Leo,

I use it to check anime episode discussions, it will probably get worse with time but its the only place I trust to read the comments. Also I still put reddit at the end of the search bar cuz the internet right now is just so full of useless articles about everything

Got a couple niche subs I still check once in a while. Otherwise I don’t read reddit anymore nor do I comment and vote.

Haven’t commented on a single post since I wiped my account. I check the news and world news subreddits and then move on.

jmp242,

Hmm, not really. As I’ve said before - a lot of the news stuff is also on Ground News, WaPo, Mastodon or Lemmy. There’s no great replacement for /r/sysadmin, but that needed replacing as it got to be useless over the last few years. I don’t know if there’s a /c/changemyview or not, but that isn’t necessary.

Actually, I just spend more time doing other stuff for entertainment - read more books, catch up on more podcasts, yes watch more youtube, TV, Movies whatever. Go outside, walk the dog. I’m kind of surprised how much time I can spend on lemmy lol.

odium,

I’ve only touched Reddit when it comes up when I google something. Haven’t used it for anything else for the past month or so.

I was pondering about a Mastodon/Kbin issue this morning and the first 10 google hits were on r/kbinmigration :[
