shrug shoulders
Eh…

I don’t have the vocabulary for a good mantra like most of you. But a shoulder shrug and a “what are you gonna do about it” kind of noise is enough for me.

scytale, in A friend offer me a investment opportunity at 15% annually, is it too good to be true ?

his business don’t depend on number of customer available

Clarify this with them. If the business does not depend on customers and selling a product/service to them, then it’s most likely a pyramid scheme/MLM. If he continues to be vague about what exactly the business is, that’s another red flag. A legit business shouldn’t be hard to explain, especially to people they want to ask for investment from.

hahattpro, in Fellow Lemmings, how to create Social Media that does not have mods?

Do you know Nostr ?

conciselyverbose, in A friend offer me a investment opportunity at 15% annually, is it too good to be true ?

The risk is that the business fails. There are no "sure thing" investments, especially at higher returns.

Ask him how his business can fail. If he doesn't give you a variety of possibilities and ways he's hoping to prevent them, I'd be very worried that he's overconfident and not prepared for difficulties.

intelisense, in A friend offer me a investment opportunity at 15% annually, is it too good to be true ?

This sounds incredibly risky. Proceed with caution!

iamdisillusioned, in A friend offer me a investment opportunity at 15% annually, is it too good to be true ?

Get all the details, then come ask us.

cooopsspace, in What are some conspiracy theories you absolutely believe to be true?

The US actually makes terrorists, and by extension refugees. If 9/11 wasn’t directly an inside job they probably let it happen or created the motive for the people involved.

Australia found an SAS soldier guilty of war crimes and were on video perpetuating a really nasty culture that almost certainly creates martyrs and needlessly extended our time in Afghanistan.

BaskinRobbins,

The SAS war crimes rabbithole is really depressing. It’s almost an open secret at this point.

Mister_Rogers, in Why it seems a majority of political communities are left-sided?

To try to give you a genuine answer, perhaps because 1) Lemmy is a left leaning environment generally, 2) if you're American, because the majority of the western and 1st world countries are dramatically more left leaning than the US (I live in Canada, and your democrats are more right wing than our main right wing political party)

Narrrz,

here in NZ, our last right-wing leader laughed aloud when asked if he was religious, on national tv, and said no.

Notorious_handholder, in Which YouTuber's voice can lull you to sleep?

Manlybadasshero

Dude does a lot of indie games especially horror. But his voice is really soothing and he’s really calm so I end up falling asleep a lot

CosmicCleric, in Which YouTuber's voice can lull you to sleep?
@CosmicCleric@lemmy.world avatar

John Michael Godier, great sleep ready content about science and science fiction. One of my faves.

crusa187,

John Michael Godier sleep crew checking in!

datavoid, in Which YouTuber's voice can lull you to sleep?

Highly recommend History of the Universe and its sister channels, it is incredibly calming

Funstuff, in Which YouTuber's voice can lull you to sleep?

I like brutal moose, he has had a whole slew of different content through the years from video games, cooking and shopping outings that are all funny, meanwhile his second channel moose2 has streams that are calm and great to sleep too.

Real calm voice, jazz in the background usually, still entertaining. Just don’t put on any point and click adventure games to go to sleep because all the noises will be clicked repeatedly lol.

serial_crusher, in Do the right wing women in relationships with right wing guys think it's like a draco malfoy thing where they're a good guy underneath?
@serial_crusher@lemmy.basedcount.com avatar

They probably both have compatible opinions on what constitutes a good person. They might disagree with you on some facets of that, but you’re not who they’re in a relationship with.

tacosplease,

OP was likely referring to how conservatives treat women. As in why would a woman date someone who treats women like that? IMO it’s because they’re too dumb to realize how they are being treated vs how they should be treated.

jasory,

Because conservatives don’t beat women? For everyone talking about the conservative male that dominates and controls his wife, there is a liberal one stoned on marijuana that needs to be babysat.

These are of course the stereotypes for each side, the reality is that there is a wide range of behaviours that has only weak correlation with political views. But everyone here is too severely brain-damaged to be able to determine causal links.

darq,
@darq@kbin.social avatar

Nobody said "beat".

tslnox, in Which YouTuber's voice can lull you to sleep?

No idea about YouTubers, but I sometimes put on Nemo’s Dreamscapes to sleep. It’s just a music ambience but I like it.

LillyPip,

Thanks!

Unfortunately music doesn’t work for me. I need something to engage part of my brain or my mind races.

tslnox,

How about something like Veritasium, Kyle Hill or VSauce?
