It is certainly possible to adjust some measurable elements of personality. For example, use of psilocybin (magic mushrooms) has been shown to alter measurable personality factors.
Hadn’t heard it before no, but it’s not my favourite of covers I’ve heard. The original song itself is very nostalgic for me with childhood memory attached so I love it as is. Only as an adult did I find any real meaning in the lyrics though. Can easily be palmed off as a shallow pop song I guess, but it has depth to me.
There is a deep, deep love for Springsteen in Americana and country. Elizabeth Moen does whole Springsteen shows dressed up like him and everything. Anyone who doesn’t see the depth in his lyrics isn’t looking. And Little Mazarn is probably my favorite band. I prefer their original songs, but awkward banjo girl and Jeff with the singing saw are a religious experience for me.
You sound excited to meet them, so I’m happy to share my experience. I’ve gone many times and done both photos and autographs… In my opinion, unless you just enjoy collecting autographs, I cherish the photos with the celebs much more. Have fun!
Back in the '80s, when these conventions were labors of love, there were no charges for autographs, pictures, or talking to guests. They actually appreciated and enjoyed speaking with fans. I have had famous comic artists draw sketches for me (I wish I knew where the Beta Ray Bill sketch by Walt Simonson is!) and spent an hour or more speaking with the guest of honor.
I can’t imagine spending substantial sums to stand in line just to have a few seconds with someone who has been on TV or in a movie.
Even as late as the early 00’s, spouse and I went to see John Delancie. Spouse bought a signed photo of him as Q, but he also came out from behind his desk and put his arm around her so I could take a pic. Maybe because it wasnt very busy, just casual. A number of years later we “tried” to see Will Shatner, but it was crazy busy, surrounded by security. Just didnt seem worth it.
A used one in your area, so long as it’s newer (2021+)
I would recommend using Linux on it instead of ChromeOS, if you’re a little more technically inclined. ChromeOS is fine but it limits you to just the Google ecosystem whereas Linux allows you to do things with it like a normal computer.
I took an old (2017?) model and put a super lightweight Linux distro on it and use it as a little administrator device. It’s got good battery and acceptable processor speed, but it’s severely limited by CPU cooling and storage.
I have heard that their “language” is less " noun verb " and more “visualization visualization” like sign language. Would be interesting to be able to understand and articulate a thought.
