CallumWells, in What's a proper response to another dog attempting to mount your dog multiple times and the owner really not doing anything about it?

If anything does something to your dog you don’t agree with you are fully entitled to remove that thing from being near your dog. Grab the other dog by the collar and drag it away (not yanking, controlled movements).

If the owner of the other dog gets angry at this then state that you wouldn’t have had to do so if they had the skills to keep their dog having good behaviour. Some times people need a verbal slap in the face to even start thinking about if they should do better. They won’t agree with you in the situation, but it may help effect some change in their behaviour over time.

Thank you. This was the comment I needed.

If that doesn’t work, mount the other dog’s owner to establish dominance.

ada, in Why does America say 'merry christmas'?
@ada@lemmy.blahaj.zone avatar

Who is “everyone else” in this story?

The only place I know that days Happy Christmas is the UK

In Australia, it’s merry

Mr_Dr_Oink,

I’m from the UK, and I’ve always said merry.

I doubt it’s any more prevalent in a specific country and more likely specific to individual families and friends.

For example, i always thought it was an american thing to say happy christmas.

Rhynoplaz,

Definitely not an American thing. It’s ALL Merry over here.

jak,

My family always said happy, but we also say Gesundheit, so who knows

ada,
@ada@lemmy.blahaj.zone avatar

Either way, happy and merry Christmas to you :)

bamboo,

Happy Merry to you too!

TheGalacticVoid,

In the US, it’s incredibly rare if not impossible to find someone who says “Happy Christmas.” It’s either “Merry Christmas” or “Happy Holidays.”

Auk, in What's the consensus on swearing here

There's not really much need for swearing in most comments/posts I come across on lemmy/kbin, so I'm not surprised it's uncommon.

I don't see a problem with bringing out the occasional swear word for particular emphasis or humour, but when someone can't write regular posts/comments without cursing it's pretty likely they're just a kid trying to be edgy on the internet.

The fuck would i care if people fucking swear or not, as long as you don’t fucking target your fucking swear at others then you be fucking damn sure no one will fucking have any fucking problem with your fucking swear.

elbarto777,

Deceptichum, in Those who chose "never" in a "now or never" moment. How is it going for you?
@Deceptichum@kbin.social avatar

Why is it that the only posts asking for more detail are replies to the only two mentioning sex?

Just go watch some fucking porn you losers.

elbarto777, (edited )

Stupid comment. It’s not about the details on the sex act per se. But more on what led to it (or away from it.) Why? Because it’s fucking entertainment.

Edit: oh. That second comment asking for details on the sex was quite cringey. I humbly apologize.

I tried Sync, Boost and many others. They all feel bloated and some have ads. I went back to Jerboa and never looked back. I do miss some features from Sync. Like the advanced search function. But they’ll probably come soon.

Speculater, in People who have made and successfully kept their New Year's resolution, what was it and how did you stay motivated?
@Speculater@lemmy.world avatar

I made a resolution almost 15 years ago to never make another resolution, I’ve kept that resolution ever since.

Timecircleline, in If you could only listen to someone talk about one topic for the rest of your life, what would it be, and why?

My husband talking about something he’s passionate about and makes him happy. It doesn’t matter what, I love how excited he gets when he’s explaining something that matters to him.

I noticed my posts don't get submitted when I swear. I also don't post in this case, because sometimes you need to swear to make a point.
