Doing that for Trademark law is why they didn’t bother lobbying for longer copyright this time. They could protect their Mouse trademark without relying on Steamboat Willy like they did before.
Actually SCOTUS ruled that extending the copyright pulls it out of public domain in Golan v Holder. Congress passed a law that put some literary and musical works back into copyright from the public domain. A case was brought by some educators and musicians that the removal of these works from the public domain infri get on their free speech, but the Court disagreed 6-2.
Yesterday I had a major “I am living in a movie and I’m the character everyone loves when bad things happens to them” vibes
Cause I woke up yesterday and a not insignificant chunk of my electonics were broken/nonfunctional… Some of them werent even plugged in, so its not like it was a power issue or something.
They were all bought at different times, from different stores, and different brands. The only thread tying them all together (and this is where the movie character shit kicks in) is that all their warranties expired within like 2 weeks of eachother, Which means they all just fell out of warranty.
The Few replies from the various companies I’ve gotten so far can be basically summed up as “1 day out of warranty is still out of warranty, go fuck yourself”
It sounds so ridiculous that even I don’t believe it, and I’m living it. Do they just put kill switches in stuff to make them die immediately after warranty now? Cause I sure as fuck feel like they do.
23:00 - 06:30 , no one bothers me, I bother no one, just me and the quiet environment, perfect to grab a coffee, study and work without anything to take my focus away.
Hard for me to choose just one. I love these three instruments because they are so peaceful and calm. Though people do use them to do covers of heavier music as well.
The Guzheng is a 21-26 string zither instrument. I love Zithers in general. There are many types from different countries.
Gens Y, X, Z, and soon A are being taught by conservatives that capitalism can’t be reformed, and therefore are digging capitalism’s grave with their own hands.
You want reasonable restrictions on firearms? Conservatives say that can’t be done because of the 2nd amendment. They’re basically teaching gens Z and A that the 2nd amendment needs to be eliminated and those generations might actually have the numbers to do it eventually.
It will be the same with capitalism. You want reasonable regulations and taxation to reign in the abuses of the rich and corporations? Conservatives say you can’t do that because the free market must be supreme.
Conservatives will dig the grave of capitalism by continuing to fight against any reforms that would make capitalism more livable for future generations.
