not at all, on the contrary, they are pretty impressive and I love how they look.

catfishsushi, in Where are all the anarchists of Lemmy hiding?

In their parents’ basements?

Kache, (edited ) in Does wind power cause visual pollution in your opinion?

It’s difficult to consider them pollution even if we were to accept the subjective opinion on displeasing aesthetics.

The pollution we’re all concerned about tends to be:

  • Physically harmful
  • Difficult to confine/localize/avoid/reverse
  • An externality the economy doesn’t sufficiently account for
  • A burden that’s unevenly/unfairly distributed across society

Even light pollution, which is arguably barely physically harmful, has all of the remaining qualities (or nearly) for sure.

If these qualities even apply wind generators at all, they do so very weakly. They can be moved/unbuilt, the “free market” is pricing them cheaper by the day, and if you really don’t like looking at them, it’s not impractical to avoid them.

We’re spread pretty uniformly throughout the Lemmyverse. There are active anarchist communities (all /c/anarchism on their respective instances) on lemmy.dbzer0.com, slrpnk.net, lemmy.ml, and hexbear.net.

Tronn4, (edited ) in Does wind power cause visual pollution in your opinion?

I’d rather wind generators than the thousands of billboards

Frellwit, in Does wind power cause visual pollution in your opinion?

Only if there would be one casting a shadow of spinning blades on my face every day. Otherwise I don’t mind them.

Anarchism@lemmy.dbzer0 is pretty active last I saw.

BradleyUffner, in what is a parental advice you wish you could give to your father/mother before they had you?

I wouldn’t tell them anything. Any changes they made to how I was raised would fundamentally change who and where I am now. While growing up was torture in many ways, it led me here, and I’m really happy with where I am now.

shasta, (edited )

Not everyone is happy with where they are now so I think this question is targeted more toward those people

NeroC_Bass, in What is the least shit online store of the shitty ones? such as: Wish, AliExpress, etc..

I bought some stuff from Ali express. Mixed results. Bought a video adapter for my wife’s car so an aftermarket radio could use the factory backup cam. Worked great. Bought a ‘billet’ camshaft for a Suzuki. Was obvious it was cast, because they didn’t bother to align the two halves together they were off 1/8". Left a bad review about it, they deleted the entire part listing, then re-posted it to hide my review, then blocked me as a customer.

Hawk,

Support from AliExpress is quite good. They don’t take any bullshit from their sellers and often refund at least a partial amount of your purchase.

I think I got 30% back once because the wrong color was delivered.

The biggest issue is that they tend to fake delivery time by switching around old tracking numbers. If you want something quick, I really wouldn’t recommend it.

Passerby6497,

Yeah, I’ve ordered from Ali a couple times for various smart home gadgets, and I got a refund on some zigbee lights because they didn’t light/change properly. All I had to do was show them a photo of the couple red lights that came in my set and I got the whole pack refunded and got to keep the lights.

pearsaltchocolatebar,

That’s probably one of the worst things you could buy on there. They’re all Tuya devices, which are basically Chinese spying devices.

NeroC_Bass,

I did end up getting a 50% refund for not sending it back, just bs that the seller can get away with hiding reviews like that.
