What happens when you mention the pain to the medical staff? Are you out patient or in?
It’s small comfort to know the pain decreases. I remember a surgery of mine and the pain was… Unrelenting and deep. They gave me effective meds, eventually, though. I mean, what they gave me worried my wife because it was - or could have been - addictive.
Lucked out that didn’t happen. But the point is, meds exist that help, I’d think.
The surgery was outpatient. They can’t do anything more for me currently. I’m on Vicodin every 6 hours and aspirin twice a day. I was also told that I can take some ibuprofen if I need it. The pain is actually a bit better right now. I managed to get some sleep and it seems to have helped a lot
Thank you! I haven’t launched a kayak in a long time because my kayaking partner and I have been hella busy. My goal is to just get back to my own house asap lol.
I've actually never had anyone try and play guitar at a party, it's just some meme that never happens, so I'd probably even get a kick out of Wonderwall, but if I had to pick something.... Probably any City & Colour song that's already acoustic would work great
I have a good mechanic that does free evaluations. I’m going to schedule with him as soon as I’m back to driving. Right now, I just want my parents to turn my car on every once in a while to keep the battery alive, and make sure my tires don’t go flat. I won’t be driving again for 2-3 months.
Good luck. If you don’t feel substantially better within 3 weeks, schedule appointments with other reputable doctors and have them take a look at your situation. I know this advice may feel excessive, but I never fully recovered, didn’t do this, and really wish I had. Find reputable doctors by asking anyone that works around doctors regularly who they would seek out if they had the same injury as you. Think about asking people in places like radiology where they encounter many doctors in situ and know their operating room personas.
Thank you. I plan to ensure that I heal properly. If anything seems wrong, I’ll be calling my surgeon immediately. This guy is one of the best ankle specialists in the country, so I’m confident in him
without the ability to filter or truly block anyone or anything, it'd be completely unusable anarchy. would be nice if you could actually like filter keywords, users, and instances, you know, like a real grown up adult social media website, like mastodon. one of the main things lemmy/kbin lacks is the ability to filter and truly block. until they code this in place, this is beta beta
The problem with anarchy is that 50% of people are below average intellect, Implementing the normal distribution, we can say that 30% of all people are dumb as fuck. Since we know that the wiser one yields, it is clear that the true power comes from the idiots, rendering it useless.
If you want to discuss anarchy let’s do that on an anarchy subLemmy. This is not a political post, even though I mentioned my political leanings, for the sake of full disclosure.
The question i am asking is technical: how to implement community self-governance.
Still, I think you're misundernderstaing what anarchy is. It is not the absence of people in positions of governance. It is the rejection of unwarranted/unjustified power positions. In that sense, if the community feels that a mod is something they want to, as other people have commented, keep the place clean, and as long as the mod can justify their work and what they do to the community, that is perfectly compatible with anarchism
