CmdrShepard,

My kid did mine too. My #3 song was “Everything is Awesome” from the Lego Movie.

phillaholic,

Uh huh. Your kid. Sure. 🤣

If you could turn back time
If you could find a way
You'd take back cher.

XbSuper,

I can’t even get through it. Is there a way to just skip to the stats and not have to watch their shit presentation?

SCB,

just tap the right side of the screen.

Kinda to be expected for me. Had my eurobeat and j-pop phase.

That’s a lot of minutes listened! I’ve still yet to beat the 100k minutes, last couple years I had around 90k :D

Appoxo,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

I listen to music almost permanently at work (5-6h) + commute (about 45min) + at home.
It quickly adds up.

dingus,

I’m curious…what are your other top genres?

Appoxo,
@Appoxo@lemmy.dbzer0.com avatar

Genres listened to in total: 154
My genres:
Chillhop
Gaming EDM (I guess? I’d just group it to general EDM)
Lo-Fi Beats
Jazz
(Japanese) vTuber music (weird to call this a genre)

In regards to vTuber music: Since it’s very diverse I list the artists instead:
Hololive (incl. Korone, Bae, Marine, Suisei, and loads other artists)
Partly related: Hatsune Miku (Deco*27 and others), Anime OP/EN music, Touhou.

Matriks404,

I don’t know why Nobuo Uematsu is on the top, but I am not mad.

Mr_1077,

Quick question, what do you think of Gayazov Brothers?

Car, (edited )
nihth,

Got top 0.001% of Garry Read, wonder how many people are ahead of me :p

I feel like I need to revisit Yellowcard, one of their albums got heavy play in my early teenagehood.

They just went back on limited tour for 20th anniversary of Ocean Avenue and I got to finally see them in concert. It was amazing. They also said that they were thinking about coming out with some new stuff.

My daughter’s bedtime playlist killed my algorithm https://sh.itjust.works/pictrs/image/a41256aa-b5e0-4ed8-830d-a57f389eef32.png

Globulart, (edited )

My 10month old son has always just shut up and listened whenever sound of silence comes on (the disturbed version, he doesn’t care for S+G it seems) and that was my number 1 by a distance I think.

367 listens, so more than daily, I don’t mind though as it’s a proper banger and I could listen to David Draimans voice forever.

dingus,

Is that A Whole New World the Disney song? Lol

copymyjalopy,

Yeah, when your little girl listens to orchestral Disney every single night st bedtime her song choices will outpace your own.

stevecole90099,

Looks like all the top songs are Disney. Moana, The Lion King, Aladdin, The Princess and the Frog. I’m just wondering if that first one is from Tron Legacy? If it is, I’d have to say the daughter has better taste in music. 😆

Hobart_the_GoKart,

Any industrial metal recommendations? I like a lot of industrial, but I unfamiliar with the metal part. Thanks if you choose to share!

copymyjalopy, (edited )

Sure, as with all sub-sub-genres the lines are blurry.

My more industrial favorites: KMFDM , Ministry , Frontline Assembly , Skold , Gary Numan , 3TEETH, Celldweller ,

More metal influenced: Khonsu, Love and Death, I:Scintilla , PIG, Gravity Kills

Hobart_the_GoKart,

I listened to cell dweller for the first time in years yesterday. It was rough, but def brought back memories. I saw Gary Numan, FLA and ministry last year haha. Going to check out your other suggestions. Thanks again!

  • CopernicusQwark,

I think anything beyond 30 seconds counts as a listen, so maybe you need to be faster in the skip.

    stevecole90099,

Is that An Honest Mistake by The Bravery? Not sure why you would want to skip that song, it’s pretty great.

    Bulkiestpizza,

    Favourite Artist: My Chemical Romance

Favourite Song: Misery Business - Paramore

    CopernicusQwark,

Misery Business is such a good song! Always gotta crank up the volume when that comes up!

    Skezlarr,

(If you’re wondering why mine looks weird it’s from YT Music instead of Spotify)

I always find with these recaps that I don’t remember listening to one specific song more than others, and I’m constantly surprised by what the top 5 are. That being said, I usually just listen to the personalized mixes, so maybe part of it is the algorithm deciding that I really like a song because I haven’t skipped it 🤷

    Globulart,

Based on that list alone I’d say you’re 31.

    Skezlarr,

Honestly that’s a good guess, you’re less than 5 years off haha

What a weird way to spell syphilis

    HipPriest,

Top Artist - The Beatles (I relistened to their remaster of Revolver a lot this year, it's really very good!)

Top Song - 'Give It Up' by Public Enemy

    Tronn4,

https://lemmy.world/pictrs/image/bcdd330f-c6f2-4c7d-a238-e11a71309e5e.jpegSame with the Beatles yet none of their songs made my top 5

    agent_flounder,
    @agent_flounder@lemmy.world avatar

The Beatles have so many absolute bangers it’s no wonder.

    HipPriest,

2 made mine - 'Hey Bulldog' and 'Cry Baby Cry'.

Man this looks like the bins when I worked at a record store in 2005.

    Globulart,

I thought exactly the same, if GuyDudeman isn’t in his mid thirties I’d be stunned.

    LongbottomLeaf,

They called me a vampire for listening to too much “emotional, atmospheric music.”

    RanchOnPancakes,
    @RanchOnPancakes@lemmy.world avatar

and you’re not going to SHARE what this emotional, atmospheric music was?

    LongbottomLeaf,

    Apologies.

I believe the responsible parties are: Lorn, less.people, The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble, Death in Vegas, Shlohmo, Ramin Djawadi, and Gustavo Santaolalla.

    RanchOnPancakes,
    @RanchOnPancakes@lemmy.world avatar

Not really my jam but I tracked through a few tracks of each band. I will say threw things.

    1. The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble is a fire band name.
    2. Something about that song they have Embers feels nice.
    3. Their description overall was very apt.
    LongbottomLeaf,

Samhain Labs is my jam off that album. TKDE is something else, that’s for sure.

I suppose you’re right, just wasn’t expecting to earn ‘Vampire’ today. Looks like I’ll be watching Louis and Lestat this evening.

    ndguardian,

You and I might be music brethren. Think that about sums up my year in music.

    callouscomic,

    2023 isn’t over

    dingus,

While true that it isn’t, Spotify puts out their wrapped before the year end.

    SidewaysHighways,

    Xmas skews all data

    dingus,

Ohhh. I never thought about why they do it but this makes a ton of sense.
