Scarronline, This was maybe a month or two ago. I was woken up in the morning by my fiancée who told me I’d left the fridge open over night. When I logged onto work HR informed me the day of annual leave I had carried over was lost due to technical reasons (cut off to take was end of march, I took it first day of April due to work time prrssures. They have no flexibility on rules), then a major headache kicked up from a new keto diet I was on. Then to top it off, I was selling my car, and someone was coming round to look. As I loved it put from the driveway to viewing it sprang a massive oil leak, like 10 mins before they showed up. So they viewed it spewing oil everywhere, not exactly a solid selling point. Needless to say they didn’t buy it.
All in one day. That was a shit day for sure.
SpezCanSugondez, I was visiting family for Thanksgiving. While we were watching the news, my father and his mother got into a massive argument over politics. It got so bad that I had to go upstairs and ride it out. It was an immensely stressful expirence for me, and I hope it never happens again.
OceanSoap, Literally my life as a child. my grandma was a hardcore Democrat and my father a Republican. Every year, every holiday, they would get into it until my grandma would start screaming at him.
0x4E4F, Jesus, didn’t think Americans are that much into politics…
activ8r, This made me genuinely belly laugh. Thank you 😄
0x4E4F, Seeiously, I thought you guys were more like “I don’t give a fuck as long as everything’s OK… more or less”.
all-knight-party, Just depends on the age group mostly, I think most younger Americans lean democrat but just don't think about it all that much.
0x4E4F, Hm, maybe… I had this notion that things were like that since forever in America, like sure, democrats and republicans have their diffrences, but people don’t quarel over their political orientations. You do you, I do me and that’s that 🤷.
Though I have to admit that things were apparently getting more heated up the last 10 years or so, mainly because of social media and the walled garden it created around people thanks to predicting what your interest are.
0x4E4F, Ride it out 🤨… what did you ride?
SpezCanSugondez, It’s a term for waiting for something to end. I guess. Like how one rides out a storm.
0x4E4F, Oh, OK 👍.
XTL, So… what does one ride a storm out with? On?
Witchfire, (edited ) All in the same day:
- I was very sick and exhausted
- My venue/the only practice space in the city announced it was shutting down
- Batshit tweaker neighbor bugged out and forced my partner and I to barricade ourselves inside
- Cops came and suggested we seek a restraining order
- Half a bottle of coquito got spilled
spoon00, I went to open a can of frozen lemonade concentrate and the plastic strip holding the lid snapped off in the first 2 inches.

JSocial, I…sigh… Cruising sailboat.
jman6495, I spent half the day in the bomb shelter and the other half losing at cards.
smigao, Woke up with a gout flare up / a split lip / and the flu
shinigamiookamiryuu, Neighbors showing their unneighborly side again. The people here have a saying, “a cat giving birth to her kittens in the oven doesn’t make them biscuits”, meaning you’re not viewed as one of the community members unless you and the generations before you were raised there. And they somehow think that’s a virtue.
