As part of the effort of making a “Chromebook-like” secure, autoupdating, cloud-native, “unbreakable” (but still free and privacy-friendly) Distro, I would like some of your recommendations on especially secure software, that could replace common ones like File managers, Archive Managers, PDF reader, Image viewer etc....
I ran Manjaro Linux as my daily driver a few years ago but slowly phased it out for Windows for some reason, and I’m finally back using Linux (currently Linux Mint). I gotta say, I don’t know why I ever switched back to Windows. There’s just so much freedom Linux gives you right off the bat that Windows is just plain...
I’m trying to move to podman from docker but selinux prohibits me from doing so. I can’t find a source where it’s explained how I should set it up. Thx!

I was talking to my dad yesterday and he talked about how he dual booted windows and Linux in his college days. I immediately left to download Ubuntu, I feel so dumb for forgetting it’s an option. I literally only use windows so I can play Fortnite with friends. PSA: you can have both Linux and Windows, or you can use a vm in...
Last Part to make use of Vulkan in Wine to be merged soon

I reckon I can rollback relatively easily via the BTRFS snapshots if it goes sideways, but just curious to see what others’ experience with doing so has been.
Long story short, I learned there is an XMMS release of a plugin I use in Winamp for music playback (mp3PRO). Sadly, I recoded most of my music to mp3PRO back in the day, and now I’m stuck using Winamp, even on Linux. I like the player, wouldn’t change it, but I wanted to switch to something native, like Audacious or Qmms....

ser*, and said non-root user being “nonexistant” (i.e set via ENV)? Can such container -STILL- be exploited/breached through malicious means? Forgot to mention that its a DOCKER container @ title, but there you have it. Just curious....
I have an Acer XV340CKP monitor connected via Display Port to my GPU. I also have a old LG W2253TQ that I use as a secondary display. It only has a DVI and VGA port. I have a DVI-DVI cable together with a DVI-Display Port converter to connect to my GPU, which is an Asus RX6900XT. I am running Nobara 38....

PeerTube is a decentralized and federated alternative to YouTube. The goal of PeerTube is not to replace YouTube but to offer a viable alternative using the strength of ActivityPub and P2P protocols....
Again, please tell me if there is a better way to do this....
I’m not smart enough to verify the accuracy of this claim, nor exactly what the implications are, but it seems like it might improve performance if fixed.
Someone tell me if there is a better way to do this, but I don’t see how....
I’ve recently switched my primary PC to Linux (Specifically POP_OS). Overall the experience has been incredible. Far less difficult than I feared....
I'm looking to organise my paper mail with the help of a scanner and some document management system for Linux....
