I don’t really have a need for Linux at this point, but I do have a 2015 Macbook. It’s still supported by Apple, but I doubt it will be much longer. It used to be a work machine, but these days I mostly use it as a glorified web browser, so the OS doesn’t matter much, but it’s definitely going to get me to install Linux on the machine once I stop getting support. I already can’t run the most recent OSes because it’s an Intel machine. No fucking way am I buying a new notebook when this one is just fine (apart from the battery, but I don’t take it anywhere) and I don’t use it to run software not supported in Linux anymore because I have another computer for that. I’m really glad Linux exists to keep old computers alive and working well. We have too much of a single-serve disposable society as it is.
