Yeah, and this only gets worse with bigger monitors. Want to use that 43" TV as Monitor #3? Wigglin’ isn’t going to help.
Real users give up and start using keyboard shortcuts to move crap around until they find it again.
Or just get a wireless gaming mouse with adjustable DPI, crank it up to 11 billion, and try to catch it doing near lightspeed as it goes through all four monitors at once. The only drawback is that, according to physics, it will likely have experienced time dilation, which means your mouse cursor has aged significantly in the short time it was in flight.
And thus the brave lammings set out to inform other lemmings, who are as tech savvy and know this is happening, that this is happening by posting memes. Hopefully the people, who would already be using firefox if they cared, switch to firefox so we can breach the 3% market share and that’ll show Google, maker of Chrome and Firefox’ main sponsor, people care enough to stop this madness! - I’m not against activism, but activism in an echochamber can turn into a circlejerk. Everyone stop stroking please… I’m here for the memes.
Brave, Vivaldi, Edge and other chromium browsers are forks of the main chromium project. They can decide whether to include or exclude features from mainstream chromium.
As far as I know, Brave and Vivaldi will keep Manifest V2 extension support and said that they will not ship WEI (Web Environment Integrity).
Discord uses a modified version of electron, and it’s also probably an outdated fork as well, although I am not sure about that.
Steam, in the other hand, uses CEF, which they use as a way to render it’s interface and as a replacement of VGUI (a good example of this is the steam game overlay), I don’t know if they will ship WEI if it ever releases in chromium as there isn’t a statement from Valve yet.
What dimensional space are the people arranging themselves in?
But seriously, this reminds me of a time at my former (FAANG) employer where HR sent out a 40-minute video about not being an asshole and avoiding lawsuits.
12 minutes or so in, they say “as the number of people in a group increases, the number of potential 1:1 interactions increases exponentially.” I thought “actually n(n-1)/2 but whatever”, and finished the video intending to get on with my life.
My inbox was FULL of engineers who were irate. “HR have proven themselves to be fools!” “I expect the company to never ask me to waste my time on their bullshit again.” “Once again non-technical people talking out their asses.”
HR sent a global apology for the error, asked everybody to not watch the video while they fixed it, and released a patched version the next day.
I hate the tribalism regarding Apple products. There are loyal fanboys who won’t hear a bad word about Apple, and then there are Apple haters who criticise everything about them.
I wish we had some more nuance in this debate. The reality is that there are advantages and disadvantages to Apple products. I’ll outline a few:
Advantages
Long iOS support. Typically you can expect an iPhone to be supported for 5-7 years, which is well above the average in the industry.
No bloatware or adverts on the iPhone
Better privacy than Google Android/Microsoft Windows
High-end hardware, e.g. M1 chip in MacBooks.
User friendly design. Nice user experience.
Disadvantages
Overpriced. Seriously all Apple products are more expensive than the competition.
Anti-consumer business practices that influence the industry. They normalised removing the headphone jack and using non-removable batteries, which other manufacturers followed. Another anti-consumer practice is using their proprietary Lighting port, rather than USB (luckily the EU should be forcing them to adopt USB-C and removable batteries soon). Also, no SD card slot because they want you to use iCloud
Walled garden. No support for side-loading apps
Required to use iTunes to add/remove music to the iPhone, which is a problem if you use Linux (you’d have to use Wine to install the Windows version as a workaround)
I’m only watching if it’s 100% serious. Terry acts as he acts and the entire rest of the movie is as written in the script. Full commit, no comedic rewriting. It’s just Terry playing Snow White.
