Please do not promote the usage of illegal substances here on this platform. As the usage of them can lead to legal action, per the federal Marijuana Tax act of 1937 thereupon enforcing the disusage of the substance in 35 US states. Henceforth, I will have to report your post to the proper authorities.
I don’t know why you are getting downvoted, I for one 100% agree that the use of illegal substances should not be allowed. However, as a retaliation to your statement I would encourage the disusage of all illegal substances per-se. I will provide an upvote to counteract the copious amounts of downvotes you have now from uninformed Lemmy users. Good day to you sir.
Illegal substances are not allowed by the very definition of the term. Discussions regarding these substances focus on whether or not their status of being illegal should be repealed or continued as an “allowed illegal substance” would be a paradox in a court of law.
Its so easy to forget all the garbage games that got churned out 20 years ago. Even the good games - your FF7s and Warcraft 2s - had their share of notorious glitches.
The ability to patch a game after release has definitely not improved first-iteration releases. But you can go out and get a copy of Skyrim or Resident Evil 7 or Dragon Quest 9 and play it with a very reasonable degree of confidence that it will work end-to-end as intended. You can’t say the same thing about Super Mario 64 or Mortal Kombat 3. Hell, the whole speedrunning community has to distinguish between “glitched” and “glitchless” runs, precisely because finding glitches in classic games is such a pivotal part of beating them in record times.
When I was making this shit post I was thinking of crysis as an example. My PC back then could barely run it but it played it. Only way to run it completely was to have a beast of a machine
Not OP, but for me: Anti-consumer, anti-right-to-repair. You have to have it repaired at an authorized service center, which charges tons; and the computer will literally lock out mechanics from non-authorized service centers (including the owner). They’re even working on subscription models for hardware you already own.
Even if the charging handle doesn’t catch on that grille and stop it from cycling, it’s still not going to be able to eject shell casings, at least not without jamming.
I mean they have to hit you with just the right amount of a lot of things to make you funny, but I’d put a lot of determiners far ahead of any possible correlation to trauma
critical/analytical thinking
a personality that sees ‘attention’ as a reward
strong social drive and desire to please others
communication skills
To be more ‘funny’ than ‘suicidal,’ wouldn’t the right amount of trauma always be as little trauma as possible?
Valid point. But, there are many reasons people are funny and like funny things. Sometimes I get the feel that I am laughing at something just to forget the harshness in life. Bo Burnham in “What’s Funny” explains it better:
“Humor is often linked to shared experience
Like, a guy gets up and says
“Have you noticed that public restrooms have really inefficient hand-dryers?”
Oh, my god! Yes, I have!
Ha-ha-ha, really good point
They should fix that…
It’s good to know that somebody finally gets me
Because my wife divorced me, which subconsciously forced me
To lose all sense of self
So, it’s nice to think about hand-dryers and not that cheating whore”
