can, in A proper way to collect open booster packs?

I think I need a visual. How do they look in the binder now?

SSUPII,

https://sopuli.xyz/pictrs/image/f78b6541-805d-4952-a946-8857d96457ae.jpeg

I have no idea why my device is taking pictures this bad today

can,

That looks good to me (blur aside). Did you check if there’s any finger smudges on the lense?

SSUPII,

Yeah, it wasn’t that clean.

My main problem with the packs is their thickness. I have not cut the packs. They are whole, without cards, just folded.

@flit@guild.pmdcollab.org avatar

Raids in SwSh are a joke so it's definitely a lot easier to get candies to level Pokémon there. 4 and 5 star raids in SV are challenging to where you're not guaranteed to beat it, meanwhile.

Of course, not every Pokémon is in SwSh, there are notable holes, so there's still merit to grinding SV raids. The problem is you are expected to have trained your Pokémon in terms of EVs... and the multiplayer has a lot of technical and design problems on top of that.

nocturne213,

The problem is not that I am not beating the higher raids, it is that I was never seeing them.

flit,
@flit@guild.pmdcollab.org avatar

Yeah that's also annoying. SwSh has the same problem at times but it feels like they're a bit rarer in SV...?

nocturne213, in Pokemon 151 tins: How many cards can they hold?

I just stuffed 85 unsleeved Basic Lands (Magic The Gathering) in one of my tins. It closed, but a couple less cards would probably be better.

SSUPII,

MGT cards, if I remember correctly, are the exact same size as PTCG’s ones. Thank you!

nocturne213,

They are the same sleeve size, but unsure about thickness.

optissima,

What year are the cards from? If I remember correctly, older cards are slightly thicker?

nocturne213,

The newest land station, i think it was released with Brothers’ War (end of last year)

SSUPII,

If we talk about commons, they are the exact same tickness (0.012’’ or 0.305mm)

Foil cards can vary

Judge216, in Leveling in Violet (and I am guessing by extension Scarlett) is super tedious

ya raids are busted. Before the dlc came out I was having no problems getting in but with the influx of players because of the dlc it has become nearly impossible to get in.

nocturne213,

Is there pre-endgame content in the DLC? I am going to get it eventually, but if I can get some exp from it now to help me get ready for the Elite 4 I may grab it sooner rather than later.

Pulptastic, in Prepare to Face a Mighty Blaziken! (Scarlet/Violet)

I am excited to figure out how to solo this.

nokturne213,

This is the preliminary plan. It will be updated once the moves are revealed. game8.co/games/Pokemon-Scarlet-Violet/…/438870

Sheeple, (edited ) in Anyone want to get together and farm BP in a Union Circle?
@Sheeple@lemmy.world avatar

What?

What game are you even talking about.

You gotta tell us what version you’re playing because BP exist in many games lol

pikasaurX4,

Blueberry Points in Scarlet/Violet Indigo Disk DLC. You do little subquests to get them and you need 12,000 to unlock all the starter Pokémon spawns. You can group up in a Union Circle and when anyone completes a quest, everyone gets the points

Sheeple,
@Sheeple@lemmy.world avatar

Thank you I thought you meant battle points lol. Pokémon really needs new Acronyms. I haven’t gotten the DLC yet so no wonder I had no idea

Yokozuna,

Yea sorry about that it was late at night when I posted this and spaced on that, they really should get more creative with these names lol.

OutrageousUmpire, in Wolf Link's Trade List (lots of Aprimons + HAs)

Very cool! I love aprimons. I’ll look over some ones you don’t have yet and see what I’ve got.

@justlookingfordragon@lemmy.world avatar

Nice ^^ I’m looking forward to it.

Empricorn, in Prepare for Mass Outbreaks of Dragon-Type Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet!

This is just for Pokemon Go, right?

glimse, (edited )

Based on the wording I’m guessing it’s not for Go at all (outbreaks IN regions as opposed to FROM regions)

I haven’t played a non-Go Pokemon game in years, is there one with online features like this?

virone11,

Yep, the newest titles (Scarlet and Violet) have this functionality.

glimse,

Ah neat

One of these days I’ll get a Switch… Just like I’ve been saying since it’s launched lol

Empricorn,

That makes sense. That’s pretty much the only one I haven’t played!

nocturne213, (edited )

Scarlet and Violet only.

Edit: title edited to reflect this.

justlookingfordragon, in When you replay older Pokémon games, how do you like to play them?
@justlookingfordragon@lemmy.world avatar

I have a slightly weird and a bit too complicated approach to this issue, but it works for me at least:

I’m an avid breeder and have been maintaining a huge collection of 'mons with special egg moves, good IVs (and later Apriballs and hidden abilities) since the breeding mechanic was introduced. Whenever I feel the urge to restart a run on any game, including the “older” ones, I create five eggs for a starter team and let them hatch in the new playthrough. That way I make sure that every team member is useful to me right from the start and I have no issues circling through them depending on which one is the most useful for the climate/zone I’m currently in or which one needs a little more XP at the moment.

Whenever I rely only on the 'mons that can be caught in early routes, I end up overlevelling my starter as they tend to be the most (or only…) useful team member and trying to battle with the others feels like a chore. It’s just not fun to try and fight with a Poochyena that only knows Tackle, Howl, Sand Attack and Growl until it finally gained eight or so more levels to learn its first actually useful attack, and then having to swap it out shortly after that because you need to drag an HM slave with you. =/

The downside is that you either need someone else to help you trade, or use one of the still availiable online storage options to trade with yourself in order to move the eggs or newly hatched 'mons into another game, and Nintendo’s service in that sector isn’t exactly convenient.

Icedrous,

See, once I was introduced to breeding in Pokémon, that’s all I’ve been wanting to do. Not necessarily make the perfect mons, but just breed until I have the nature I want and then go from there.

I’ve been doing research and the best game, well “best” game on the 3DS era that I can see when it comes to breeding and the battle (whatever it’s called) is USUM, but I like the difficulty of the gen 4 and below games.

Makussu, in When you replay older Pokémon games, how do you like to play them?

I actually search for a good Rom hack that rebalances the game. Always more fun for me :)

DeadlineX, in Dragapult Distribution to celebrate the Latin America International Championships

Thanks for the heads up!

theotime812, in Leveling in Violet (and I am guessing by extension Scarlett) is super tedious

@nocturne213 Maybe try again (at least until you can refresh)? The game doesn't try to connect to the exact same raid, just one with the same Pokémon, tera-type and number of stars.

But yeah, the board doesn't work well, it's generally more convenient to do the ones in your save (you shouldn't have raids lower than 3 stars if you completed the game though)

BeatByte, in Leveling in Violet (and I am guessing by extension Scarlett) is super tedious

Interesting, I found it to be the opposite for me. It’s incredibly tedious for me in Shield, but in Violet since I can send my pokemon out with R and just keep attacking wild pokemon without entering battle, it made grinding a lot easier for me. As a bonus, you get to farm pokemon materials for TMs.

I will say that raiding in Violet got worse after the DLC came out. There was definitely too many people hosting 1-3 star raids when they’re easy to do solo, but I admit I was definitely one of those people too when I first started playing.
