I just acquired a new PC, and it hasn’t been turned on yet. I would love some advice and tips on what to do before I get started with it to protect my privacy....

I vaguely remember either on PTIO or Privacy Guides that there were some recommendations on debloat tools. I’m wondering what people are using these days to achieve this?

I looked up a solution for this with no luck…I want to use The PF app with grapheneos but with all the configurations with both the app and gp services it still asks me to update the gp services and it force closes…any of u guys figured how to get the app working?

I want to self host in order to run Nextcloud, Firefly III, Home Assistant, maybe Photoprism, and maybe a couple other things down the line. And I want it to be fast and with low maintenance....

I know they’ve been around since the GDPR came into effect, but I’ve suddenly noticed a sharp increase in the cookie prompts on web pages which have a second “legitimate interest” page. Some of these have an “object all” button, but plenty require you to manually opt-out of sometimes hundreds of ad-trackers....

I have a device that reached end-of-life support and I’m burned out loading ROMs to extend it’s support. Upon from my return from the trip I plan on purchasing a new device anyway, so buying one while traveling is also an option....

Looking to set up a basic static website. What domain registrar should I go with? Would prefer something that has more privacy obviously. Any recommendations on hosting services (cannot host on own hardware right now)?...

If I sign up using phony info and use a new email which is only for fb, always use a vpn and a browser (chromium) that I only use for fb can I be anonymous? I ask because there a couple groups that I’d like to join that only use fb. Thanks.

I despise this dogshit application and fail to understand why so many universities use it. I refused to sign up for the longest time not like it would let me anyways for some reason but it is becoming harder as certain university stuff are mandating it.

What would i lose or gain?

Tried to use OSMAnd last week to navigate around on vacation. For some reason it seems to be incapable of searching for house numbers, which is an instant dealbreaker. I’m very confused as to how or why this is a thing on such a mature product....

When I get a message in signal that that it has specific wording that would make someone think that it’s a task then I get a notification to save it to keep how is Google doing this are they reading my signal my messages

I installed Bitwarden from F-Droid, but I happened to notice yesterday that Bitwarden was in my list of apps with updates available from Play Store, even though I installed it via F-Droid. Why would that be?...
