BossDj,

The thing about Delta Shift is they always try to walk it in

“You already reversed the polarity? All right, but did you really? Let’s do it one more time while we’re on the phone together… oh, it’s working now? Yeah, that is weird, goodbye.”

negativenull,

You poor dejected warp core. Shaxs is after you.

I never thought of that. Why can’t the industrial replicators on Bajor replicate more industrial replicators?

Catsrules,

I guess it could replicate itself but a slightly smaller version.

Malgas,

Or replicate the parts needed to assemble an exact copy.

Catsrules,

Yeah that would work assuming there isn’t a part that is one single large part. I am thinking like a big side panel or support structure.

I guess you weld parts together after the replication.

taanegl,

Well yes, it can, but it requires power. Vast amounts of energy. It’s still about the energy, even in the distant future, because I swear to the prophets, it never ends. It just doesn’t stop not stopping.

Infynis,
@Infynis@midwest.social avatar

If you have Industrial Replicators though, you have the power to power them. Or maybe not, maybe Bajor didn’t have the infrastructure to power them, and Star Fleet sent them with giant, but limited batteries

echodot, (edited )

If you have enough capacity to power 10 you can’t replicate an 11th because that would mean that you would have more replicators than you had capacity.

They had other places on the planet that wanted to use them though, and with how chaotic Bajor was post-occupation, I doubt they had a planetary power grid, so they would have been able to use more

DrakeRichards,

I would imagine that they could fabricate most of the parts for other industrial replicators, but there are probably some components that can’t be replicated. We know that dilithium and latinum can’t be replicated, so there are probably other exotic materials too.

Sort of like how you can use a 3D printer to print a new 3D printer, but there are some parts you cannot print like that. Like if its a PLA printer you probably still do need some metal parts for their characteristics, sturdyness or whatever.

So maybe a replicated replicator would work, but probably be very unreliable or stops working quickly.

AngryCommieKender,

Because the Federation is secretly fascist

youtu.be/P4KBPaS-1PU?si=A5WiBPtn8ViidRPk

negativenull,

What does that have to do with replicators?

AngryCommieKender,

They are secretly sabatoging them to not make more replicators to maintain section 31 control.

IDK I was mostly joking

What operating system is that probe running?

Pakled

We’re going to die!

possiblylinux127,

Have you tried Linux?

Kolanaki, (edited )
@Kolanaki@yiffit.net avatar

Have you considered switching your long distance subspace communications service to Pakled Bell? You could be saving several strips of gold pressed latinum every 72 hours!

negativenull,

Those long-distance fees will kill you though.

BossDj,

Dear sir or madam,

I’m writing to inform you that a warp core leak has broken out. I look forward to hearing from you.

Yours truly, Captain Freeman

Thanks to @ininewcrow for the idea
