I still have issues with the film, but I do think TFA did a decent job at setting up the sequel trilogy, just a lack of planning for the overall story and letting each director choose what they wanted their film to be about is what really messed it up, like as much as I dislike TLJ, the worst part is that it does nothing to continue what was setup before it and doesn’t really end on a good note of where the final film will go
Comic adaptations of films are interesting. They quite often used to contain scenes that didn’t make the final film because the were usually based on earlier scripts with a selection of photos so they actually knew what they were drawing.
The Marvel adaptation of Star Wars has a unique version of Jabba in docking bay 94 because no one knew what he was going to look like.
Finally, if you want to see a poor comic adaptation, check out the one for Terminator 2, looks like it was drawn during a lunch break!
Fingers crossed that it isn’t mainly about setting up future movies and can put a wrap on the character’s journeys. It won’t surprise me if Grogu is in the rebuilt Jedi order movie with Rey. I’m also curious about Mangold’s film, but the most recent Indiana Jones movie has tempered my expectations a bit as well. When is Andor season 2 out?
