zeusbottom, Looking at this, it occurs to me that no one has made a good pocket protector joke in a long time, probably because protectors are all but extinct.
It makes sense, but I never thought about it until now.

I think people realized that instead of putting pens in your pocket, you can just put them everywhere else! Pens everywhere the eye can see!!!
