I’m between distros and looking for a new daily driver for my laptop. What are people daily driving these days? Are there any new cool things to try?...
It looks nice in the screenshots, but it charges $40 for “premium” which is pretty much the same as the free one, besides it having a few extra themes, and some “professional creative software” and stuff (free software that they are bundling in, and acting as if it’s exclusive to Zorin or something)
They also have an IT management tool called Zorin Grid that has said “coming soon” for years now
Out of the box it can play audio in the background, and now that extensions are available you can block ads as well. You don’t really need constantly updating 3rd party clients or questionable firewalls anymore if you just want usable youtube on a phone.
Windows as a software package would have never been affordable to individuals or local-level orgs in countries like India and Bangladesh (especially in the 2000’s) that are now powerhouses of IT. Same for many SE Asian, Eastern European, African and LatinoAmerican countries as well....
It doesn’t make you anonymous. Torrent protocol wasn’t designed with anonymity in mind and there are a million ways you’re going to leak your actual IP address....
